Dragon Age Inquisition

I really cant decide if I should get this lol. Is it actually released now? I know it comes out on the 21st but has it just been made available at midnight?
Already spent £44 on GTA this week but I do love a good RPG.

Just finally killed the Dragon in Hinterlands at level 11, as soon as I got Knight-Enchanter and respecced. Such a good fight, and I'm glad I did it when it was still difficult rather than waiting to outlevel it.

Knight-Enchanter is unbelievable. The sheer amount of damage it puts out is ridiculous, and this is with only 2 abilities in the tree and only one or two of the supporting passives from other trees. I think Knight-Enchanter is definitely the way forward for mages, unless you absolutely 100% don't want to be in melee range.

I was planning to go knight enchanter and I'm glad to hear it'll be fun. Since so far at level 4/5 I'm not really feeling the Mage.

You can't have really looked then as the first one had quite a few mods and they're not hard to find...

It seems that now that people are getting further into the game the reviews are sliding from positive first impressions to a more negative feel, the last time I checked metacritic the critic scores were high where as the user scores had about the same number of negatives as the positives...

Cheers :)

On the mods; no, I was a console gamer then so wasn't looking at all, just don't remember hearing people talking about them.

As for the sliding opinions, it seems the game isn't quite what we were all hoping, if from no other point of view than the complexity and flexibility of the combat :(

So there's a lot of talk about the single player, I remember reading the game had a ME3-esque 4 man versus the world deal in it, is that live and any impressions of it?

Is there any archery specialisation in this? Had a look on the wiki, but couldn't see anything.
I also couldn't see blood magic :( (yes I know it was kind of an 'I win' speciality, but I loved it)

There isn't a specialisation, but in the basic trees there is one soley for ranged weapons.

Ah I understand now, to be honest you're right, I didn't hear about DA mods till I actually looked for them myself and then realised that the texture pack was a must and there were some awesome weapons as well.

On another note my DA Inquisition unlocked at midnight and I started it up only to find that I couldn't select Mantle, I'm on the 14.9 drivers so does anyone know if it only works with the beta driver or is there something else I need to do?

Tried this last night but as i am not a fan of the originals did not know what to expect.

So far only played a few mins just to get a taste..

One thing i don't like is having to hold a button to be able to free look with the mouse... checked the options and couldn't find any open just to have free look on...

Can this be done?

Graphically game looks nice.. running @ 4k using DSR on SLI 970 and getting average 60fps with Post processing effects at medium and the rest at ultra with 2xMSAA

Same problem here on 14.9. You need 14.11.2 beta for Mantle to work.

Reaver is the closest thing you'll get to blood magic I think. Awesome fun.

well about 7 hours in and starting to warm to it. Its nice to have a modern game running stably on my 2 year of setup, the only thing ive noticed so far is a tendancy to drop into window mode randomly.

Combat is a total clusterfluff though. It really needs some expanded tactics options. As a dual wield rogue its hard to pick out where you are in relation to who youre hitting when everyone just piles into the middle.

Looks lovely, runs smoothly and its stable. I like the map system of picking out quests and generally doing what you want.

Once you accept the reality that we will never see something with the mechanics of Origins and Baldurs Gate again from Bioware then its more enjoyable. But i do hope they beef up the tactics in a patch. Just a "target ranged mobs first" option would be nice.

Yeh, 7 hrs into it myself and just got the horse. Taking my time and enjoying it, it must be good i have not had the urge to play skyrim yet :D. Seems to work better with a pad and as i am playing a mage look flashy while using one spell and 2 others now and again which is great as i dont multitask very well :p. Can recommend this game, i am gonna see how many people i can get between the sheets so i am being extra nice to everyone :)
