Dragon Age Inquisition

No, you don't have to. They're optional for purposes you'll uncover in due course.

In the Forbidden Oasis there's a temple you can find your way to where you can use the shards to open three sets of doors, and opening the doors is set as an area quest when you find them. You get rewards of spirit, ice or fire resistance for opening them, some cash and an item or two in the final door of each path.

If you're only going to collect limited shards, you might want to consider that the final ice door has an amulet of power for the main character.

I'm working on fire door right now; abut 84 hours in level 19......I not sure if close to the end or not lol think I might need to push the story forword;

Just checked on how the modding was going on this. Short answer is slowly, but there are few coming out. Looks like it is still being tested just what they can do really.

You can at least get a retex of the pyjamas!

Finally playing through this and loving every second of it! Wow how I was mistaken about this game.

Anyway, I'm getting graphical artifacts from time to time. As though my cards too highly clocked... Yet it's at stock. Is this a known bug with this game?

Also, I've now spent 8 hours in the hinterlands... Doing all the side quests. Still loads to do. Is this insane? As I'm rather enjoying it and the quests feel fun and fresh even though they are only side quests. I'm in the mindset that once I leave the hinterlands, I'll find another area swamped with side quests and as a result. Get overloaded. Is it like that? Or are some areas much larger than others?

The Hinterlands is the largest single area, but that's not to say the others are small. All of the areas have an abundance of side quests ; the problem for many though is that they feel like they belong in an MMORPG, as they really are just "collect x of y" type scenarios and have no particular relevance to the main plot, or interesting story of their own.

Ah, I'm just seeing them as farms for points/power.

I'll finish off the Hinterlands the best I can (come accross some pretty strong enemies) for now before heading back into the main quest. I'm a completionist and it's killing me lol.

As for artifacts, get loads in this game, but I just did a stress test using EVGA's OC tester and it didn't find a single artifact. So I've reinstalled the drivers from a totally clean wipe (safe mode, display driver uninstaller, aka driver sweeper). I'll see if that works.
