Dragon Age Inquisition

nope nothing in their skill trees. I'm a mage as the inquisitor, I got the 3 trainers for mage rife, Knight Enchanter and Necromancer, opted for the Knight Enhancer and did get that tree appear. But for my party members, a rogue, warrior and another mage, the only one that has an extra tree specialisation is Dorian who has Necro.

Do I need to unlock the individual specialisations for the rogue (assassin) and Warrior (champion) via the war table or lore in the world?

Hmm. The only war table operation relating to this should be "specializations for the inquisitor". I'm sure I got all my companion's specialisation unlocked before I even finished my way of the knight-enchanter quest though.

Perhaps it's unlocked by speaking with them in Skyhold before taking them into the world? I don't know because I routinely spoke to most of my companions after finishing quests anyway so maybe I triggered their specialisations without realising. Have you tried speaking with them at Skyhold and then taking them out into the world?

Or perhaps just try changing party members back and forth at a camp in one of the world zones. Perhaps it's just an instance of the game being a bit sticky on things that should unlock.

I am about 30 hours in at level 12 and I am loving it ! I have just done the quest where my mage is a knight enchanter ! I can confirm its an OP spec , you don't ever die lol , instant shield giving you non stop life and hitting the enemy for 300 + every hit. I've not killed a Dragon yet but going to give it ago now , I will advise doing the Hinterlands quests thou because I enjoyed doing them all in the 5 hours it has taken me plus if you get all the landmarks you get given EPIC Staff at the end.

The game is very confusing to start with but once you get to skyhold the game starts to open up , I have been to a couple places killing mobs ect and clearing out zones and getting mats and I am really enjoying it . Is it worth £30 ? hell ya ..... its one of the best RPG's I've ever played and if you play it on ultra settings the game looks gorgeous, never seen RPG look so good.

Forgive me for not reading through the thread, didn't want to find too many spoilers.

But can someone give me some basic tips? I have recently started and have got to Hinterlands. I am level 4 I think.

When I go and try and close the rifts the enemies are level 12 or so and my whole team die really fast.

I tried one near the farm where you have to kill wolves and another elsewhere where a big burning monster thing appeared.

I presume I'm doing something very badly wrong? :)

Yeah, it's easy in this game to wonder into areas too tough for you early on. I remember running like mad from a level 12 fade rift in The Hinterlands too.

You're probably not doing anything wrong. The game is just laid out like that and you do need to be cautious at low levels out in the world at first. Best bet is to do all the Haven quests, and try to mop up as many quests around The Hinterlands as you can. Don't be afraid to run from high level mobs/rifts. It's always a good idea to test any rifts you see by getting them to spawn demons from as far away as you can and checking their level.

Once you're level 7 or 8 you're probably best then heading to The Storm Coast and The Fallow Mire to pick up a few quests there, but it will be a while until you clear or fully explore any of those areas.

Thanks for the advice.

I seem to be picking up lots of weapons. Does it go into one storage area or do the characters carry things individually? Should be I going to each character and selecting the new items for them to use? Thanks again

The game has been designed so you head back to these locations over and over again , if the enemy kills you then come back later :)

The game gets amazing once you get to skyhold , around level 10 , won't say why but I will say the first few levels where boring. gets more fun as you explore the worlds , so much to find and do .

Thanks again. I have got to level 7 or so and recruited the guy with the massive hammer. Seems a bit easier now!

One more question, when I travel to the home area where there war table is, how can I give the items to all the people in my team? They disappear from the top left of the screen and the menus? I was thinking I should be able see all my characters and give them things?

If you open your inventory, you can use the arrows in the top right to cycle through your companions and equip/unequip their items. There is only one shared inventory, and when you equip something on a companion it no longer takes up an inventory slot.

I have to admit, I'm amazed at the scope of this game.
So far it's absolutely huge. I've been running around for 40+ hours and I've no idea who far I am from the finish.

Any updates on improving K&M controls, or is a controller still the way to go?

I have been holding off picking up this game until the PC controls are acceptable. I know I could simply use a 360 controller, but there a plenty of other games to play so thought I'd see how things develop on PC before purchasing. Sitting at my desk with a controller feels weird and I douby my wife would let me steam stream it to the living room for 100 hours :)

I don't know what the problems were, apart from the tactical camera being a bit awkward and the need to hold RM for mouse-look. Overall I much preferred Kb&M to playing with a controller. I found the controller just made combat take longer as every operation took that little bit of extra time to select abilities and targets. In general I thought the game suited Kb&M really well those camera/mouse-look issues aside (as I got used to both of them tbf).

Can someone please explain why a DA:I game is more expensive as a download (49.99) vs physical media (37.99) on GMG?

Where is the cheapest place to buy? :)

that's because even though it's cheaper for the publishers to let you download it online (read: free, well nearly, bandwidth and servers for them are already a sunk cost) compared to you buying physical copies, they market downloading as "saving you the hassle of walking to the store" and therefore, charge you a premium for it. now that's what i call having your cake and eating it too. lol.

and the cheapest place to buy da:i is origin mexico

Your post fills me with confidence. Aside from those problems you listed I think I just picked up a bad vibe from people saying a controller is a must.

So the right click to mouse look is similar to world of Warcraft? Managed fine with that for years.

Oh you dirty minx :o

There's nothing wrong with KM controls, I just happen to feel that the controller provides a more natural feel to the game. I felt like I had to run over and be right on top of stuff, then move the cursor to right-click it to interact with it, whereas with the controller I can just run near it and press one button, without moving the cursor around.
