Dragon Age Inquisition

Just started playing this. I have literally just done the opening sequence and reached the first village where the game world opens up.

The inquisition is formed.

I'm level 4 and have spent some points. I came across this guide for character creation, but am wondering if having spent points already will I have enough points to complete the build?

Do I need to start again if I want to build a character to the exact specs in the guide or are there enough points to spend on skills I wont use?

Don't worry, you can buy an item from the blacksmith that allows you to get all your points back and respec. The first one is only 1 gp and after that is about 300gp think so not very expensive at all later in the game.

I know I'm a year late to the party. But what a game. Starts off slow and is a little bit average. But once you reach Skyhold the game because pretty awesome.

I'm lvl 15 around 30hrs in but havnt killed any dragons yet.

Origin says I've played 590 hours :p

Enjoyed it a lot, Sera is my favourite party member

My last inquisitor was a female dwarf (spoiler for size)

Each of the npcs can only have 1 fixed specialisation tree, only your character gets to choose which tree to use. For the rogues Sera is tempest, Varrick is Artificer and Cole is Assassin.

Haven't had one crash, your temps OK, drivers stable etc? what's the error if any?

No error messages just application exists to the desktop.

I have my CPU OC'd. But there is no blue screen or any other sign of instability. It's done 3 hours of gaming no crash and others where it crashes to desktop 1-2 in a 2 hour period.

The internet s rife with CTD for this game back in 2015.

I started playing this earlier, I have DA 2 aswell, but not tried that one.

The graphics look great, I like the style of having to select an 'answer' or a 'question' in the dialogue, get a sort of presence of WOW, only played a few minutes of it, but got to say that the one thing really annoying about it is not having use of the mouse as you normal would in these games, just doesn't feel natural.

If you have Chrome open, close that. Reportedly lessens the crashing.

Switch from speakers to headphones. Make sure the main audio source (whatever it is in Sound is overridden over Speakers.)

Repair Game via Origin is the last advice I can see from Googling.

Teal'c is with me.... awaits doom mongers arrivals :o:p:D

I reignited my love-hate relationship with this game the other day. Thought I might try the dlc, but it is so bloody expensive!... 3 pieces of dlc for 11.99 each. Plus I started as a qunari and was amazed to discover there is not a single piece of qunari-specific armour in the game! Oh, but you can buy 2 pieces for £4.99!

The game gets a lot right, it actually had some well done rpg elements, but for everything it does well it does two things badly. Attention to detail is poor too.

I am enjoying it though, probably more than I did the item time I played it. I have the combat on second easiest to make it playable.

So I played through Jaws of Hakon. Thoughts-

Really good dlc that seriously shows up how shallow and poor most of the base game is(and this is meant to be the weakest of the dlc). The area you explore, Frostback basin, is easily the best in the game. It is really well designed. The place that this dlc excels in relation to the base game though is so simple it just highlights the deficiencies of Inquisition- It features NPCs with dialogue!...I know, shocking for a supposed RPG...There are even cutscenes! Unlike the base game, this dlc furthers the story and lore(and there is plenty) through dialogue with characters instead of the really poor notes, and fetch quests with no interaction from the base game.

if only any of the areas in the main game were in the same league as this it would have been a great game. Instead we got Hissing Wastes, Emerald Graves, Exalted Plains, Forbidden Oasis, Fallow Mire, the list goes on. Areas with no real story of their own, hardly any NPCs to talk to, a few fetch quests and no cutscenes. Unlike those areas, Frostback Basin features it's own pretty good narrative that is well delivered through interactions with characters and features some pretty interesting lore, and some decent interaction with party members. It is it's pwn story pretty much, but it does tie in well with the main story.

It also features some cool new gear and some interesting new fights(well, as interesting as the boring combat can get anyway!)

Overall I was quite impressed. It was worth playing
