Having a problem with the game. When I go to menu and back into game, it is suddenly very, very dark, like the gamma or brightness was set really really low.

Can only fix by exiting to main menu, but once I go back into game and back into settings, it happens again.

Iv just been playing this recently which is the first time in months as I couldn't really get into it since it released. While im loving the graphics and gameplay and some of the story I feel one thing that lets this game down is theres just too many quests and its too overwhelming. I felt like I was in hinterlands for so long and there was still so many things on the map to do I just got sick of it and decided to move on lol and then theres like 5/6 new places to go on the world map. I love open world games but too many things in one place can be a bad thing as it starts to feel like a grind.

This is the first Dragon Age I've played and I have to say its one of the best games I've ever played.

I don't say that lightly.

if you liked inquistion, try playing origins.
dated graphics, but better game, story-wise, than inquisition imo
(also has mods too)

I've just finished doing this, the mods can bring the graphics up so you don't feel like you're playing an old game. I had some nice texture mods (Theta HD/JB3 Textures) and the better immersion mod (all of which can be found on the nexus mod web site, which is a great resource)

Finally I added a sweetfx config to bring out the colours and enhance. The game is excellent, although combat gets a bit boring once you hit a certain level, but the story is amazing, well worth putting in the time to get through it, there's some really tough decisions that I was agonising over for quite a while, some of which are still felt in the story right the way through to inquisition.

The DLC is pretty good, although all the small missions (eg witch hunt) are just rehashed levels from Awakenings (the big story driven DLC). But again, all good story driven gameplay!

I heard there were problems with the PC controls in this game, but no way did I expect them to be this idiotic. It basically asks you to use a KB/mouse as a proxy for a controller. It feels completely unnatural and is IMHO inexcusable.

I will be dropping this until they patch in a proper set of PC controls.

While certainly not perfect I've got used to the controls now and they work ok. Given how long it's been out now I highly doubt they are going to get changed significantly in any further patches.

At what point should I leave the Hinterlands?

Because I'm losing the will to live with this game at the moment.

Head for any other new area as soon as you possibly can, the hinterlands is one of the most boring areas in the game, a very bad introduction area. You definitely don't need to complete all the quests there before moving on.

Tried to get back into this again before witcher 3 came out as i knew i wouldn't touch it again for few months with all the decent upcoming games due out but no.

Gave it so many chances but meh i really dont like it. Nothing gripping and not enjoying it at all.
Dao was my favourite game of all time and its definetly not nostalgia its just a boring unexciting game with lots of filler.

Clocked about 20 hours and doubt ill play it again :(
Been playing witcher 3 and wow blown away so far.
