Written by someone who doesn't play games

Quick Google search shows the writer is a black activist who usually writes stories about social justice and movie reviews, he posts one article per year about gaming for Time and doesn't have anything to do with gaming otherwise, a complete nobody, and if you read the Time GOTY article, much of sounds like he asked ChatGPT to write a summary of the game for him, non of the writing sounds like a person who actually plays games

Steam has released their 2024 best sellers list and dozens of other games sold better than Veilguard. Heck, the Steam list includes any revenue for a game even if it's not out, and so we can see that Monster Hunter Wilds, a game that can only be pre ordered and does not release for another two months, has already sold better than Veilguard

I noticed the sale barely moved the concurrent player count - maybe levelled it off suggesting that it didn't sell many even discounted.

Amazed to see it only in the "Bronze" list for the Steam overall sales revenue figures, it's below some fairly niche titles. I'm even *more* amazed to see BG3 in the Platinum list? Maybe lots purchasing it at the front end of 2024 when it was still fairly fresh.

DA Veilguard came in at 71st position ... there's no way it's managed to turn a profit.

so they could bring out veil guard instead? :cry:


Was dreadwolf too dark for modern audiences? aww we needed a disney style story instead
