just going back to another entrepeneur, did anyone else not think that those charts for getting the kids to behave were slightly expensive.

they were retailing for £20 for a 3 months supply, so that's £80 per year.

i've got a couple of nippas and i'm not paying out £160 every year for a couple of sheets of stickers so that they'll eat their dinner.

isn't it just a sticker chart? we got a magnetic resuable one for £15, sorted.

yeah they were v v v expensive although the shops they were selling them in kinda meant that they could charge that much

Didn't see the point in making a new thread....

New series of Dragons Den starts tonight - 9pm. Who's watching? All new Dragon, James Caan(No, not the one that stars in the Godfather ;) ). Read more here. I hope he lives up to Richard Farleigh, it's a shame they gave him the boot.
 
It was announced on 21 May 2007, that Richard Farleigh had been dropped from the series. The Daily Mail suggested he may have been dropped in order to have a new dragon from an ethnic minority. Farleigh said, "It would be disappointing if that was the reason - rather than anything fundamental - if it was because I was the wrong colour. I don't know why this has happened and I am very disappointed and bemused - I wasn't expecting it because all the feedback I got was very positive. I had even moved back to the UK to focus on commitments for the show. I am gutted that I have not been invited back."[3] James Caan, a venture capatalist and founder of Hamilton Bradshaw, will replace Farleigh in series five.

Damn, Richard Farleigh was the best Dragon by far. Very intelligent and honest but still kind and gracious.

They should have dropped the woman because she's annoying and never invests in anything.
 
I like it, until they actually want to invest. Then they are double hard assed ********, they really sell themselves, grind down the original inventor, and make him sell them 40% of the business for about 100k, meaning that the business is worth 250k, when clearly the business is worth a great, great deal more than that.

So the main people who lose out are the winners, and the people without a chance, well we all learn something. And the Dragons get famous. Its win - lose.
 
Any idea if this weeks episode is repeated at all? I'm working every monday night and can't be bothered to set up the video recorder :D
