Dredd trailer

Well empathy corey in the comics had a rougher time of it.
Psychic powers are due to mutation, not like the ugly radland style muties, but still mutation, and mutation is strictly controlled.
Either work for us, or leave.
The empath killed herself didnt she? Anderson never forgot that.
Comic wise Anderson must be in her fifties by now, dredd into his sixties, he's had a couple of rejuvs along the way, but he has grown in his time.

I love the concept of MC1, a truely fasist state, but with he major batteringa hey take over time, it seems they are building towards an endtime.
Maybe they will link it into the eventual demise of 2000AD. Hopefully not, but they might give themselves the option.
Worst case the new Rico can always pull on the Dredd badge instead.

It would be nice to see Dredd get a second movie in this universe, the creation of the megacity, the building of the blocks, watch at he story progresses, and as the Judge become legend.

This, I was suprised that nobody seemed to know Dredd's name as he is absolutely feared throughout MC1 so assumed (or maybe hoped) it must be a 'journey' movie and this is the first in a series as I figure the exclusion of the Angel Gang is quie a big ommission.

I did think about it after the movie and sort of thought they could've made the 'crooked' judges he kills in the film come back at a later date as the Dark Judges.

It's fairly early in his career although he is a senior judge. I got the feeling that he was well known amongst the ranks of fellow judges, but not so much to the general populace.

The dark judges are from an alternate universe and I guess they'd have to take a trip to the cursed earth for the Angel gang (which were one of the few things that were spot on in the '95 film).
Edit: Speaking of which, how cool would it be to see the origin of Mean Angel in a flashback scene? :D

Yeah that's why I was hoping for more films (3 seems to be the standard now it seems) as it gives them a character to develop.

Thought the Lawmasters were crap as well, what happend to the 24" wide tyres?

Watched the Blu-Ray last night.

Yep, still awesome. Now I want to watch 'The Raid' again this evening :D

It didn't make a profit?! It was such an awesome film though. Seriously rad.

I was shocked and disappoint when I heard this. It is such a cool film and deserves better.

I heard there were going to be two more Dredd films but they're being panned because of the poor box office receipts :(

So....anyone bidding on Karl Urban's Dredd costume?

Its currently sitting at £7100, with 6 days to go.

Propstore are auctioning 200 items from Dredd over the next couple of weeks.

Just seen this, genuinely shocked it didn't break even at the box office. I was pleasantly surprised, decent film.

How can this not make enough to get a sequel, but every couple of years we get more of that Resident Evil junk?

Possibly it passed largely un-noticed in the US because of poor advertising. That and as MissChief said. Underworld and RE are established franchises and people will pay to watch them, no matter how bad they are. Success and money are everything, sadly.
