Dredd trailer

Helmet looks massive on his tiny head and he's trying to hard to sound like Stallone's version of Dredd...just the first couple of points that came to mind from the long list of bad things :D

Sounds nothing like stallone, if anything he sounds like Clint Eastwood which was always how Dredd was supposed to sound like.

I wont write it off yet but it's got a hell of a job to convince people it will be good and make some money.

Well it might be a more serious version, but it won't be able to match the awesome cheesiness of Sly's version. :D

Obligatory:

It looks reasonably ok, but I'm expecting it to be either average or a pile of dung. I'm disappointed by the lack of huge shoulder pads. :(

and pfffft! People dissing Stallones version have no taste! :p Those sort of films of his and Arnies etc. back in those days are classics and the best there is! :p :D

Actually going to watch it again soon, awesome film! Haven't seen it for a while!

Personally quite like the look of the new Dredd movie, probably will be cack though, but if it is enjoyable to watch then no complaints from me :p

Seriously, it'll be the best Dredd movie of all time.

OF ALL TIME!

Well it's not exactly up against much is it? The previous Dredd film is what, 17 years old now? I liked it at the time but it wasn't how 2000 AD depicted him IMO. This new one however looks a bit more like it & Karl Urban will do old 'stoneyface' Justice this time round (pardon the pun) ;):p

first thing I thought when I saw that was ... what Karl Urban as Dredd... what is he the new go to man for this type of role...

Watched the video and was like... oooh battlestar galactica 1980 meets iron sky (yeah that film by the same people who made star wreck in the pirkinning)

Have to say I kind of prefer the original, this looks a bit too 'batman' if you get what I mean.

That looks atrocious. Who on Earth thought it would be a good idea to cast Karl Urban as Dredd? It's like he's satirising Sly's portrayal with that stupid frown. He was obviously the best C-list actor they could get for the role.

I'll just leave this here...

TBH I allways felt Sly's Dredd had a damn good aesthetic, the movie isn't bad in it's own right; mistakes like Rob Schneider and the helmet coming off ruined it as a true Dredd movie though.

At least Stallone didn't look lost in his helmet like Urban does, and no eagle? :(
