Haha, builders tead? Is that muchos milk and sugar?

the chinese has been drinking tea without milk for thousands of years, it's an english thing to add milk in it. fine tea should never have milk, it's the tea bag stuff that people do

I feel I should bring up the magic 3 second kettle, as without milk (time saving) you could in theory soon be drinking 10 second tea.

Sounds good. Now, another question then. My housemates and I had a discussion about the hot water that comes out of our taps. We have a combi boiler, not a storage tank, so therefore in effect our hot water should be 'clean' no? Because, it gets so damn hold it scalds and would be sufficient to make tea with and no doubt costs less.

Would it be clean to drink?

Technically I suppose it would be as clean as drinking it cold. You wouldn't hesitate with drinking cold water from the tap would you? It would feel weird though.

"Put the tap on, I fancy a cuppa." Doesn't have the same ring to it. :p

I'm not too sure. I would be inclined to believe that boiling water from a kettle would be a more trustworthy option.

I like my cup of tea both ways. When I wake up after a heavy session on the beer I find a brew, a la Penski is by far my favourite. My mug isn't quite as large as his :o it's around 3/4 of a pint but i like 2 tea bags in there for 5 mins with a shedload of sugar, then don't be shy when adding the milk. Yet say i'm just sat chilling in the garden having a read I equally enjoy a strong, unsugared and very very lightly milked tea.

Milk is for babies + some research in Germany earlier this year showed milk in tea blocks it's natural benefits. This could explain why we've got one of the worse records for heart disease in europe despite being a nation of tea drinkers.
Regular tea is just stained black water, designed to be 'tamed' by milk and too harsh on its own for my taste. 'Clarity' by Pukka (sold in Tescos) is my fave ATM.
Oh and those fruit teas are just plain wrong.....
poof tbh.

yorkshire tea, hot water, steep for 3 minutes, stir, remove bag, add sugar, add milk, stir, drink, repeat...

Tea and coffee are supposed to be drank without milk. People who put milk in either are losers.

Proper tea and coffee is much nicer without milk, but I would never consider drinking a cup of pg tips or asda own teabags without milk :)

Granted sometimes you can't choose what kind of tea someone serves you :)
