Drinking the laxative drink before a colonoscopy...

... picolax 2 small glasses of orange flavour and then its fire and forget for 12 hours :D

I had this the day before my cancer operation. I managed to clean the car and just as I finished drying it along came mr crapper....

My sympathies, but the pain I was going through before I found out I had ulcerative colitis was worthwhile getting done

how are you getting on with uc ?

ive been told i have this also and will find out for certain next saturday when i have my colonoscopy.

had 2 really bad time's with it and once i passed out and awoke to find paramedics over me.

not a very nice thing to have to be honest.

google agent picolax for lols :-)

Sad to say I did this and clicked on a blog. It has had me in stitches poor man mistook the date of the procedure. Great read. :D

Oh OP from what I have read I would invest in some decent moist toilette tissue the type used by sensitive females as you will need it.

Good luck.

It's gash stuff, I couldn't bring myself to finish the 3rd thing you need to take in the morning. I was crapping myself that I was going to crap myself on the way to the hospital. Everything went better than expected though.

Who's your gastroenterologist?

Dr Klass at North Manchester General Hospital.

Same, just moved to him after Dr London at Leighton. He's a bit weird, dosen't want me on Azath' anymore, bit unsure about that atm but i wont miss the contant blood tests, hope it all goes well, love the bit where they take abit of sidewall  :p

Me mum had to do something similar. Wasn't allowed to eat for 2-3 days and had to have mental laxatives.

Pretty much said it was hell. You have my sympathy.

He's a bit **** in my experience, seems to be steroids, steroids, steroids with him although I suppose there's not an awful lot out there for UC that actually works consistently from person to person. I've not been taking any medication now for over a year as Asacol only made me worse and steroids aren't a long term option, I didn't want to take azathioprine either as I didn't like the sound of the side effects.

ah well that's not good to hear, steroids make me rage and sweat a lot. I've on x4 400mg asacol twice a day for ages, dosen't seem to bother me. Aza seemed to keep things on the downlow for me, so to speak..

My dad had this drink. He just drank it like a true man and didn't complain. And he was 94!

Be a Man!

You have my sympathy mate. I had the same 2 years ago. The procedure itself isn't too bad - it sounds worse than it is.

The kleen prep is absolutely rotten - I have never felt so sick in my life! I found that holding my nose helped but I only discovered that towards the end.

Once it started to work there was no holding back - you literally can't control yourself!

You'll be fine - good luck with the test.
