Drive - Movie Thread.

Anyone seen/heard about this movie?
Release is Friday 23rd September 2011 over here.


Basically has been doing the festival rounds and knocking up a healthy supply of awards, all the critics are going mental about it 9s and 10s flying out the gate....and looks really awesome.

Its supposed to be exceptionally dark and gritty action thriller, Ryan Gosling takes the lead over from what was supposed to be Hugh Jackman (he went to do some ****** film about robots boxing) and according to sources delivers a Oscar worthy performance.

Has a pretty tasty cast to boot:

Christina Hendricks
Ron Perlman
Bryan Cranston
Carey Mulligan

At least half a dozen scenes are burned into my memory for life, including not one but two of the most jarring, heartbreaking juxtapositions of tenderness and violence this side of classic Kitano.

I'm lucky enough to have seen this twice already as I work at the company distributing it.

It's probably my film of the year, absolutely exceptional and is getting glowing reviews.

The soundtrack is also immense, a solid 9/10 - Go see this people. And oh, it's really not a black comedy in any sense of the word.

I warn you though, it is very very violent.

Haha! I did have 2 DVDs in my possession the other day. Regardless, I would never dream of doing what you're suggesting :p

Had to take the DVD's to google HQ, wait there and watch it so they didn't do any dodgy stuffs, and then go home! Google's offices are amazing!

Yeah, really looking forward to this. Once I saw the trailer I thought it was going to be a fun action film but doing slightly more reading and hearing more about it it doesn't seem to be the stereotypical action film I thought but more of a thriller which is excellent.

Will be one to see at the cinema, with layered popcorn!
 
Was gonna go see this but its not showing anywhere near me:confused: nearest is 30 miles away wtf:( its not even on at starcity in brum whats that all about.

was finding this too, but just appeared at exeter vue for next wednesday, so orange wednesdays it is :)
 
will be seeing on wednesday...looking forward to it already. im sure gf will be complaining about the ridiculous levels of violence in it at the end but meh il live...
