Driven over wet tarmac - who is at fault here?

cone blocks drive. Driver drive up kerb instead.

I would have though that the sensible thing to do would be pull up and find out what the sign on that cone is all about, not mount the kerb to avoid the cone.

Wow that is poor signage. What about people walking down the street, do they have anything? When my dropped curb was done by the council, you couldn't even get to the tar mac area as it was completely fenced off.

That wont fly, she didn't drive accross a part with no cones.

We have no idea what precautions there were for pedestrians, as the photos are focussed on a particular narrative.

I'm pretty sure petrol and a wire bush will damage the blocks, I'd *try* a pressure washer, but be prepared to do the whole drive. If that doesn't work their going to want a whole new drive.

if she's in the wrong, shouldnt she have to pay to fix the ruined path as well?

If that was my house I would really be more annoyed about the path than anything. Councils don't re-tarmac old paths very often and it's not like a drive where you can replace it yourself. Hopefully they were able to repair it when they put out the extra cones.

Does she normally drive over the grass? If not then there was clearly something amiss.

However, we are not all perfect, and it is clear that there was inadequate signage. One cone in the road does not indicate good signage.

Personally, I see it as joint liability between council and the driver.

Given it's her own business, I would make sure the customer paving is fixed asap, and work on the angle of inadequate signage.

Why the way, we only see one angle down the road with the single cone. Were there more cones further down the road from the direction she came? It seems odd that there was a single cone on one drive way.

It is a bit suspicious unless by that time they'd only done one driveway?

I hope the council doesn't end up forking out cash for something like this.

My scepticism is high that the workers put down ONE cone on that street.

I have this feeling that if the camera looked the other way down the street we would see a long row of cones and she drove up the kerb past the last cone... after driving past a long line of WET TAR signs.

But then why would someone point the camera both ways on the street when it makes their side look better by only taking a picture of one way.

The second most obvious thing the councils legal whatever would bring up would be related to that.

The most obvious is that she deliberately mounted a kerb to go around the cone protecting the wet tar... And that's before my suspicions that it wasn't the only cone on the street and she had driven past cones before that one.

If I were the customer I would be annoyed. I don't care who is at fault, I would expect it to be fixed and you to pay for it to be fixed. The fact you feel it wasn't properly signed is a problem for you to take up with the council, the customer just expected his dog walking and now he has a mess all over his drive caused by your girlfriend. Fix it, take your gripe up with the council, that is nothing to do with your customer.

Yup.
