I'm not sure if what I'm about to type is helpful at all but I've had no problems at all with the very latest drivers, I've been playing Dragon Age, GTA V, Shadows of Mordor and The Witcher 3 without any problem..until I installed the latest patch for the The Witcher 3.
I'm now getting "this driver has stopped working" quite frequently. Hoping a fix comes for this soon.
Then I remembered something I had changed a while back in 'services.msc' (Windows start -> Run) to check if the 'NVIDIA Streamer Service" was still disabled, but lo and behold it was running.
Nvidia streamer service is only installed if you install the useless tat that comes with the Nvidia software that isn't just the DRIVER and PHYSX.
Just thought I'd say that I was GPUless for 2 weeks while my 980 Tis were delayed. When I got them a few days ago I did a complete uninstall of all my Nvidia drivers including Geforce Experience etc., and then did a new install of the 980 Ti drivers and Geforce software.
I've had no crashes or problems whatsoever.
Setting the program settings in NVCP for my games to "prefer maximum performance" seems to have stopped it happening for now. Seems to agree with this voltage drop/ ramping on boost thing that people are going on about.
Update I have sins done a few things to try and stop driver crashes but still nothing at this time has worked. The amount in which it does it is lower but I am always getting at least one crash on every game maybe more depends.
I am running the 350 drivers at the moment.....Pfftt so much for master race Nvidia drivers
