Driving

Driving is absolutely awesome.

this

once you pass you'll wonder how you ever managed before, and as MRK says, you don't need to drive illegally to have fun.

I couldn't be bothered to learn how to drive when I turned 17 ,now I'm 18 and about to go to uni, so theres no point as I won't be driving around there. I guess I should learn after uni, but not sure if its worth the money tbh. For jobs it could be useful I imagine, but thats about it. I was never caught in the phase all my friends went through when they just had to drive.

I didnt start learning to drive until about a year after i finished uni, i got a job within walking distance anyway so felt no real need apart from being able to go places.

A couple of years later im driving a car that ive wanted since before i started to learn and only for leisure so dont put many miles on it but when i do its great fun.

I have been doing 1 lesson a week on and off now for about 9 months :o Got to that stage i cant be bothered with them anymore but has to be done.

Had 45ish in total, and have my test booked for 5 weeks time :D

I take scenic routes to places because I like driving so much. Unfortunately, as of the 31st of this month I will no longer have a car; therefore it's going to be pedal power all the way :p

Anyone else dislike driving? It seems everywhere you go people seem to like driving.

38 years old and I don't drive. Have managed to get by all my life, even the past 8 years living in rural Wales without the need.

Ironically one of my best mates is a driving instructor, but we both agreed it wouldn't be a good idea to take lessons from him.

Took a test years ago (before the theory one came out) and failed it on all things the Highway Code (but passed the driving! :o)

Would 'like' to drive to make things easier in terms of taking the dog out, but unfortunately just can't justify the cost of lessons, test, a car, tax, insurance, fuel, etc, etc.

One day.

People can be placed into two groups, those that driving comes naturally and those that have to work at it. A natural driver will have a go at driving anything in any situation and enjoy it. The other type will always struggle and will see it as a chore.

My god 45 lessons? That must rack up to what.. over £800?

I'm only having 10 lessons, i'm on my 6th or 7th, got my theory on Thursday then booking straight in for my test ;)

I love driving home when I finish work, usually nobody else on the roads so although I don't speed I can go at my own pace and really enjoy it,

When in traffic though... ugh! I would rather do anything than drive in traffic

I hate driving too and drive as little as possible. Didn't take my test until I was 35 and I almost regret it, despite it being necessary to drive at the moment.

I find the time I spend driving when I'm on my own in the car is good thinking time and gives me a chance to mull over a lot of things I otherwise wouldn't get around to.

There or there abouts :(

I cannot stand driving, just going to make going to college and work a whole lot easier than being on a dam bus for a 2/3 hours each day which depresses me :p

Hmm interesting. I passed my test after 12 lessons so I wouldn't say that I struggle with it, but I do find it a chore :(

I can't imagine not driving. Imagine having to rely on people for lifts etc.

Their is at least 7 more ways of transport than driving.

Walking
Cycling
Motorbike
Taxi
Bus
Train
Helicopter
Plane
Boat
