As title really, im thinking of trading in my DS for a DSi plus of course putting some money too it. My three questions is:

1) DS to DSi worth it, is the screen a lot better, i think its meant to be better than the DS Lite so i should notice an ever bigger difference, to my bog standard DS.

2)How much should i get if i trade my DS in, i still own the box if that makes any difference.

3)Which game out of these 2:
Chrono Trigger
Zelda The phantom Hourglass

The DSi is only worth it if you no longer care about the GBA slot for GBA games/rumble packs/other add-ons, and if you just only want to play your bog standard DS games, along with any future DSi-only specific stuff too.

The screen is slightly bigger, and has more brightness options too, and of course other features like the SD card slot and 2 cameras. Total battery life has decreased compared to the DS Lite though because of all these new features.

It is said that some future games will come on enchanced gamecards, which means they will work on both DS and DSi, but any extra DSi specific features will not work on the previous hardware. Not that any of this would make such a HUGE difference anyways.

If you want to trade in your DS, hopefully while it still looks all nice and clean without a lot of stratches or dirt marks, then I guess somewhere around £50-70???

And out of those two games, I would take Chrono Trigger. The Phantom Hourglass is good, but I rather take the classic SNES RPG greatness that is Chrono Trigger.

Personally i don't think so. I am not a huge DS fan anyway, but tbh i just can't see a reason to change.
Also i would wait to see what happens regarding the whole enhanced cards shenanigans. There isn't any software worth note at the moment either. By the time there is, it'll no doubt be cheaper anyway.

I'm going to get a DSi tommorow and trade in an old DS lite, I'm not lowering my routers encryption for my DS and I like a larger screen.

I'm pondering whether to pick a DSi up tomorrow!

I want to play Chinatown Wars and after seeing some of the features of the DSi im impressed. Initially i wasn't interested at all.

Dunno what colour to get though. I'd probably get a white one! :p

I was under the impression a high street chain are offering a guaranteed £75 trade in value for DS's against the DSi

If you have the original DS I really would consider the upgrade, When I went from DS to DS lite I couldn't believe the difference in the screens, I couldn't go back to the original, apparently though the DSi screen isn't "that" much better than the DS lite, Just get a lite on the cheap now that everyone is trying to get rid

Seems quite similar to the PSP 1000 to 2000 to 3000. I can't help but think that one of the reasons nintendo have released the DSi is the try and combat the vast amount of flashcard use. I know piracy has been around on consoles for a long time, even back to the super wild card on the SNES (apprentley:p) but it has alwasy involved a lot of messing about, either chipping or other extreme measures or £cost. With the DS, every man and his dog seems to have a flash card that cost as much as one single game. Even people with no PC knowledege seem to have them.

The DSi does support WPA/WPA2 but only in DSi games and new DS games that will release in the future. Older DS games will still need WEP.

i got my dsi today nice and early, wont have time to have a play till later though

but there are a few ways to get a dsi for cheap, ive seen them for as cheap as £60 via .. tactics ;) and to purchase online for £100

Just picked mine up while passing a supermarket.

Got a free 2GB Sandisk Card with it, i also bought Chinatown Wars aswell. The total was £166. Not as bad i thought it was going to be, at least i get some clubcard points! :p

I got the white one in the end, can't play it till the end of the day though. The GUI is a lot different.

Got mine before, It's awesome!

the screen size is initially a lot bigger than what you expect and the graphics look the same because the resolution is exactly the same. Camera functions are quite funny as well.

well worth it imo.
