For those people complaining about the erganomics of the Sixaxis, but wanting a DS3, don't forget, that part of them is exactly the same.
When mine arrived, before I tried it, I had a good look at it, to check that it was actually a DS3, and not another Sixaxis
(It does say Dualshock 3 by the USB port though)
They don't come with a USB cable either. I don't know why, but I was expecting one.
When you come to use it though they do feel a bit different.
My triggers are, I don't know if spongy is the right word, but definitely more accurate when playing a driving game.
The PS button is different on mine, when you push it in, it goes below the level of the plastic on the controller, whereas my Sixaxis one doesn't.
I think the X, square buttons are more sensitive too.
The first game I played with mine was Uncharted, and I was just starting the Jetski level. While I was driving it around, I was thinking that it wasn't very fast. Then I pushed harder on the X, and went faster. It's a lot easier to vary your speed now with the "analogue X" button. Whereas on the old one, you could vary your speed, but generally pressing it = all the way in, this time, a "normal" press, was enough for about half throttle.
The sticks, as mentioned, are a lot more precise too, which took me a little while to get used to
And of course, it has rumble!
I'm totally glad I got mine. Even better is a surprising number of older games have been updated to use the rumble, including launch titles like R:FOM and Motorstorm!
So, just remember, the ergonomics are just the same, but, just about every other part of it is better.
Enjoy!
