Dualshock 3 date for EU

  • Price Drop (Even to £250 is more affordable)
  • DualShock 3 Controllers bundled in.
  • Backwards Compatibility
  • More Games (it's getting better over time)

Agreed, I'd buy another one at £200 ish.

Agreed.

With so many PS2's sold I really doubt this will affect sales at.

Games aren't really an issue now as there are a lot of good games out and plenty on the horizon, it really is just sony's idiotic and stubborn attitude towards pricing that is limiting them, but that's typical of a Japanese company (Nintendo are not much better).

Looks like the ps3 is maturing into a great console, i think it has made better progress than the 360. If only ms had the manufacturing skills that sony have, then the 360 would have cleaned house

Wish i had known then i would have bought one local , anyway i will go pick mine up from the post office later :) .

Meh, got myself one of these months ago, the sixaxis is now reserved for mates, DS3 is a streeteh-only peripheral :)

Ditto. But i did stamp on mine in the dark which sent one of the R2 areas shooting scross the floor in a hail of pieces :(

Only one bit of snapage, but some field surgery fixed it within 10mins. Nice sturdy plastics used there sony, top stuff ! If I had done the same to a six-axis it probably would have disintegrated into dust :D

Back on topic, got mine from HK for about £30.

Good news for people who haven't got one yet, a large online retailer has them up for £29.99 :)

£10 off the RRP - now that's more like it.

Sony should give a free DS3 to every PS3 owner as an apology for having no games, and almost every multiformat game havnt inconsistent frame rates, and for supplying the ps3 with a peice of crap of a pad.

I bought my DS3 from hongkong 6 months ago, for cheaper than a sixaxis costs here....
How the hell can it be CHEAPER to import something from asia or usa?! Something really isnt right here.

Sony are starting to get things right at last, I am now seriously considering a PS3 and this was one of the things holding me back. I think the main things that people want from the PS3 are:

  • Price Drop (Even to £250 is more affordable)
  • DualShock 3 Controllers bundled in.
  • Backwards Compatibility
  • More Games (it's getting better over time)

The above combined with the new features such as in-game XMB coming in 2.4 would make the PS3 a lot more popular.

Exactly the same reasons i want one for, except im not too bothered about backwards compatability, rather have a download service and have them stored on the HDD.

don't think they will go back to b/w compat due to the PS2 selling a lot better than the PS3.

Any word on PS3 with DS3 bundled in the near future, if Sony have stopped making the SIXAXIS then it's only a matter of time until the new stock comes through.

don't think they will go back to b/w compat due to the PS2 selling a lot better than the PS3.

I think you may be right, they probably will end up doing BC eventually once the PS3 is selling more than the PS2.

It's not going to until there's backwards compatability - I know a lot of people who aren't buying a PS3 because they don't want to have to keep their PS2 next to their PS3 just to play some old games.

Stupid decision.

Was in my local high street shop ( the 1 with the dog and sheep for advert) not sure if competitors, and was supirsed to see thy had them in for £40, so ive just got home and checked a popular online reatiler and can get it for £32, question though, is it really worth it, i have 2 six axis controllers already ( came with console) but the battery seems to need constant charging.

No they definitlely are, DS3 pads are so much better than SA pads. Analogue sticks are vastly improved, as well as better weight, build quality and rumble. Battery life is the only disadvantage.

I agree on everything bar the sticks, I found no difference bar the surface on the top.
DS3's are much, much better controllers though.

Then again, the Six-Axis is the worst I've ever used so it wasn't hard to better it, but the DS3 is the best Sony have ever released.

I can't imagine the PS3 without my Dual Shock 3. MGS4 really used it well.

Had one since Christmas, and it's been worth it

Surface on the top? I found the analogues to be much much better, one of the most obvious changes, they're a lot more responsive and smoother than my SA ones, they return to the centre a lot snappier as well. There is also no-where near as much play/dead zone!! Thats in comparison to launch 60Gb SAs as the newer 40Gb pads are improved.
