The same will probably happen to dubstep, everything will be 4bars, DROP, Madness, switchup, end tune.
Ragga Jungle is still being made, but it's pretty different to how it used to be, stuff like Bong-ra is now considered breakcore.

Dubstep now gets played on Radio1, I swear I've heard that La Roux remix on daytime! I think it's safe to say it not so underground especially with people like Chase & Status doing both D&B and Dubstep...

I don't really care how underground it is, good music is good music (no matter what genre), and I'm hoping there will be more quality than quantity for some time to come...

It still is underground. It's just that a lot of other genre based artists are jumping on the dubstep bandwagon, e.g. chase & status, black sun empire, the prodigy etc.

I wouldn't say Dubstep is all that underground any more, just that a lot of people probably aren't actually aware of the term. When the main DnB night up here has a separate dubstep room, there are more random dubstep nights than dnb ones, and one of the local poppy/random nights drops Eastern Jam like no big deal, I'd say it's getting pretty recognised.

That said, I'm not quite sure I'd class it as commercial yet either. It's somewhere between the two.

Couldn't give a rats myself. If it makes me move, it's good.

I guess stuff like Benga, Skream, and C&S getting played on the radio means it's no longer underground, while other artists such as Joker, Jakes, Boxcutter, Headhunter and Martyn are much less well known so are still considered underground... Underground or not, as long as it's good I'll give it a listen. :)

I still wouldn't really regard those as commercial or mainstream, just 'known'. Although i'm starting to see chase & status taking the pendulum route...

Been listening to a bit of dub today after last night, the DJ dropped Chainsaw Calligraphy and the place went mental :D

Here's a couple tracks that are great

Loving Nero's stuff and he's playing at Stealth in Nottingham on the 13th so that should be good :D

EDIT: Couple more tracks, can't decide which one I like more

EDIT 2: Have another, can you tell I've gotten some new tunes recently :p

Anyone who hasn't yet heard the Caspa Essential Mix from last weekend and is planning on listening, I wouldn't bother as it's dire :( really not impressed after hearing Rusko's last December I thought Caspa would rinse it but no :(
