Hey there,

I've been having troubles with my ducky shine 3 keyboard for a while now. It first started to occur when keys wouldn't be recognize. I would have to hit the same keys several times for it to show... And it would have long delays...

I tried to troubleshoot it, switch USB ports, clean all the keys and etc, yet still I had the problems.

So, I sent it back to OCUK and they sent it back to Ducky, I waited 4 long weeks to be told that it had been repaired.... But when I got it back. The same problems were still there...

I tried other alternatives.... But the problems of the keyboard still were there. So... I sent it back again, waited 4 weeks and than get told "MANUFACTURER WARRANTY VOID - SERIAL STICKER REMOVED"

I know full well that I did not remove anything or do anything to the keyboard it's self but Ducky seem persistent upon doing nothing and avoiding it all together..

I payed £110 for a keyboard that has been nothing but stress and a company that is a complete joke during all of this (Ducky), not ocuk..

Sorry for the rant guys, just 8 weeks, all this shipping and waiting, all the excuses under the sun... you would expect to have a quality keyboard and service... but all i got was poor customer service (Duckyshine) and a poor quality keyboard.

I've found most warranty is useless, had a Razer Imperator 2012 that the sensor would start to stop respond for a few seconds rarely spoke to Razer they do nothing then 1 week after the warranty goes it starts double clicking.

Had a Roccat Kave headset which crackles when moving the cable which I have had for 12-18 months and they told me to send it back to the retailer!

Could you ask OcUK to take it back and send it back to them? Even if you are without it again maybe you will eventually get a working keyboard, really s****y I know because I have had the same stuff from companies, once they have your money most just don't care.

Anyway that is my rant also over :)

I've given up on so called gaming keyboards.
I had a Razer Black Widow and then a Steel Series G6, I'm currently using the OCUK £10 Gaming job and its great.

Ouch, that's kinda rough but yea, i did attempt to go through OCUK. (twice)

It's like i said, i sent it in the first time, waited 4 weeks, they claimed to of repaired it (Ducky), had the same issues and sent it back again to get that crap... >.<

It all just seems very dodgy to me, the circumstances and all..

I am attempting to talk to customer support to see what can be done but i won't get my hopes up..

That's the funny thing though, i do my research before buying anything and everyone claimed it had superb build quality and great customer support yet while the keyboard has decent quality, the customer support is awful...

I am typing on a keyboard i got from Argos 6 years ago for £8 and still works perfectly.. :D

My experience has been that peripherals like mice/keyboards offer very poor value and performance improvement for the money you throw at them. I've tried a couple of expensive 'gaming' mice/keyboards from some of the main brands and have been disappointed with all of them in terms of their quality.

I'm currently using a cheapo Emprex membrane TKL keyboard and Logitech Mx Revolution mouse I've had for the last decade! I'd happily upgrade them if I thought there was something out there worth changing for but so far the search has been fruitless.

Stick to Logitech for warranty, they have been known to replace old for new with even out of warranty faulty items.

I've had my Logitech keyboard over 12 years. :)

Ah thanks!, i'll be sure to do that in the future. I've never had this poor of an experience with a company in my life. It's one huge struggle merely to get a faulty keyboard replaced....

It's kinda sad though, only got to use it for 3 months before all this happened..... :D

I find it odd that all of a sudden my serial sticker was removed... considering the fact that OCUK have inspected it twice and meet the manufacturer's requirements for it to be sent to the manufacturer, surely OCUK wouldn't of sent a product back if it didn't meet the requirements for doing so.. like one of the basic things being a serial sticker being present.

Just an update guys.. I got the keyboard back.. and guess what? The serial code is still there and plain to see.

There are some finger marks on the keyboard it's self and on the serial code.. but the serial code is still intact and very visable.. :)

I sent it back to their RMA base in the UK and just got a lovely email this morning informing me it had water damage, yay!. It's not like they've changed it 3 TIMES already, first time it was apparently repaired, than the sticker was removed, now water damage.... what next? I smashed it against the wall or threw it out the window?

Oh but no worries, they offered me a discount, a Ducky 9087 for £90 instead of a £100!, but wait, only Red leds and brown switches.

This company has been an entire joke, nothing but excuses, waiting 9 weeks and lack of communication.

End of rant and anything from this company

Oh, another email.. :)

The first time we received it back we could not replicate the fault and sent it back, it was shipped back 4 days after we received it. I am not sure why you were informed that it have been repaired as we didn't carry out any repair (Ducky). I find that funny considering i got an email from OCUK saying the following...

This was the first time i sent it back btw... :)

not making sense now like

But if they're pulling the "water damaged" card and it hasn't been then imho that puts them at the top of to avoid list.
Companies doing everything they can to refuse warranty replacements aint getting my custom

They used to be awesome but since change in management a couple of years ago they stopped all that, have you had to return anything to them recently?

That's the thing, i havn't properly used it since the 1st time i sent it back. The only time i did was when i first got it back, to see if it was working and got told or ocuk "assumed" it was repaired. Which it wasn't..

So, i don't know how it got water damage as they opened it up the first time and found no water damage, only on my 3rd go was it found..

Besides, that's not the only thing, sent it back the 2nd time to OCUK, got inspected, it pass the tests/meet Ducky's requirements and got sent back to them, but this time the warranty sticker was damaged... lol >.<

They told me as soon as they g ot it, the warranty sticker was damage and sent it back asap but i know full well that it wasn't broken when i sent it, otherwise it would failed OCUK tests asap or their requirements for it being sent back, that and i havn't even touched the back of the keyboard.. thus the original thin film was still on the back of the serial code.
