** DUCKY SHINE III IN STOCK AT OVERCLOCKERS UK **

Ordered around half 5/6 last night and received at 12 today! Absolutely fantastic work OcUK :)

Already loving it and it feels really nice to type on, should be great for upcoming project writing. Thanks ducky and overclockers

Ok
So these keyboards look amazing and I will be getting one as soon as I can afford it!

But will someone please tell me what this YOTS edition is everyone is raving about and where I can see it?
Year Of The Snake i'm assuming?

Look at this bad boy. First aluminium Ducky keyboard.

yeh it's a lot of money but the mouse, kb and monitor are your interface with you PC!

Like saying buy a really cheap sofa because being comfortable is a luxury even when you spend hours on it

Was too busy trying it out last night.

Few comments to make.

The good:
Quality is top class.
Very nice feel.

Cons:
Instructions are awful :(
USB Cable is too short and very hard to fit into the keyboard.
No windows drivers / software just recognised as a generic keyboard (shame for the cost I expected windows control or at least for device manager to see it for what it is rather than generic)
Cant see the numbers with LED lighting, it lights the symbols above, but the numbers are not easy to see at all.
Can't get most of the function keys to light up. (Solved FN+F9 - Thanks Ducky UK)

Have to say i'm rather disappointed so far overall. Maybe for £140 I expect too much?

FN+F9 will light all the FN keys in lighting modes.

Well that's not in the instructions, but yes it does work.

Another issue, is that I set the space bar snake to red. but every time I turn on it always goes into demo mode with the colour changing.

As I say the instructions are terrible :(

Hi Guys,

Please find below the links for the updated Shine 3 firmware.

Link provided for the European ISO models only there is a US ANSI update but shouldn’t be required for your customers.

Shine 3 DK9008 Firmware Update;

Change Log:

01.Increased compatibility with certain motherboards that trigger a sleep state and reset the keyboard when booting the computer
02.Fixed rapidly hitting FN+F10 jumping to a specific lighting mode.

03.Aurora Lighting mode.

Whilst I do want to try one of these I'm not sure what everyone is going on about them looking amazing, they look like old school BBC computer keyboards tbh or some other such keyboard from the 80s, and not sure why the snake on the space bar is such a selling point for everyone asking about the YOTS edition

As to rjk breaking the guy down for saying £140 was crazy money for a keyboard, rather than the amount of time spent using the product as an argument it is really more relevant to think about the tech that's gone into it. Is a keyboard really that technically advanced/difficult to make that it justifies the price tag? Some of the arguments here are kind of like the ones that followed the GTX Titan around claiming it was good value.

we dont have any ducky in the shop but if you go to the counter then i am sure the shop staff will be able to give you a demo of the model you are interested in.

All the Shine III's including the YOTS come with two space bars the Snake model and a standard Ducky one.

The YOTS model its a limited edition model 999 will be made and its top cover is aluminium.

Personally - I love the snake spacebar :)
I also have to say that despite my gripes the more I use the keyboard the better I feel about it. The feel is superb, it really is.

Mine arrived this morning and over all I'm pretty impressed, but I do agree with SimonMaltby the user manual is worthless and the numbers don't light up properly.

Got an MX Switch PCB sample kit coming from the states in 10-14 days.

I worry for the shine models without a palm rest, I have actually become really used to it on my saitek and would only get a dent in my palm without one.

Are there any mech KBs with rests?

Corsair K95 is more up my street for the same money.
Brushed anodised black aluminium, multimedia keys with knurled volume dial.
Cherry reds
White backlighting.
Textured palm rest
USB pass through

I don't want/need the 18(!) Macro keys (three programs per key) but its the only way to get it in black and with white backlighting
