I need some ducting to run to the airbox on my car. Basically I've pulled the resonator out so it makes a nice noise.

Problem is, it just sucks warm air in from the engine.

I've got a K&N panel filter in the box anyway so any ideas where I can get some from?

I've tried wickes & b&q but they only do it for tumble dryers etc lol.

I'd like some 76mm ducting for my airbox. A small scoop to sit behind the grille would be great too. Just something to force air in rather than the standard angled intake that sits in a random place behind the headlight.

but wouldnt you have to be doing very big mph to get any sort of ram air benefit? lol

as long as its breathing from somewhere cold youll be doing alright. whats your intake system look like without the resonator?

Check out raceland induction kits. It's an open cone, but sits underneath a scoop. Can be very effective on the correct car.

That golf looks and sounds rather nice!

It looks like hoover hosing ha!

Mines got a gaping hole in it. Hence air escapes before it reaches the filter.

GruppeM;)

what about getting a another hose and putting it into that hole where the resonator used to be, glueing/sealing it into place then running that hose to someplace cold?

is it possible to get a pic of a (focus, innit?) with the resonator gone?

The CTR doesn't have a resonator. Someones tested the CTR with a temp gauge in the standard airbox which has been moddified to remove all the restrictive rubbish and with a short feed (we're talking about less than 10") and a wider scoop direct from the grille his temps dropped 15C, which is obviously good.

This is much more preferred than an open cone induction that can suck in water near the bumper or heat in the engine bay, and a damn sight cheaper.

I'm looking to do the same so I know I'm getting some nice cold air in there. Has a bit more of a roar to it too with just the restrictive stuff cut out.

@ Tim - That would make my willy tingle, but my wallet cry :(

@ Digital Wolf - They look like Simota kits, lot of 206 guys run them They don't make one for the CTR but I was considering butchering one up if I found one cheap enough.

Thats what I intend to do. Install a second pipe either underneath the current one or down by the foglight. Just need to remember about it being low when going through the odd flood lol.

Just remembered I have a scoop from an EP3 Mugen airbox, only downside is it was modded by the last owner to fit his DC5, so I dunno if it's any good to you?

Got a feeling it's 2.5 inches.

well stuff like that aint too dear, i got mine (as per this pic) from a local ducting place on an industrial estate (about £4 for 2m, it was an off cut)

seal it to the airbox then run it to somewhere cold, much better than a drilled box (ive measured the intake temps..)

They fit to the little bracket on the slam panel don't they? I'm sure I'll find a way of fitting it. I was gonna butcher something else up anyway, but at least I know the Mugen one is the right size!

I'd be willing to give you something for it if you want rid?
