seal it to the airbox then run it to somewhere cold, much better than a drilled box (ive measured the intake temps..)

Arrhar, great stuff. What did you use to seal it?

Cheers.

They fit to the little bracket on the slam panel don't they? I'm sure I'll find a way of fitting it. I was gonna butcher something else up anyway, but at least I know the Mugen one is the right size!

I'd be willing to give you something for it if you want rid?

I don't want anything for it, you coming to the RR day - could give you it then?

my airbox has a 'warm air intake' that goes to the exhaust manifold... it is of no use to me any more so that was modified and the longer 50mm grey hose added so make it breath from somewhere cold.

the hose is held on at the back with a jubilee clip.

as for sealing yours on, id imagine most silicons/glues would do the trick

Sadly not, it's the weekend of my other half's 21st (which I'm gutted about!!). She didn't want an RR day as a present sadly. She prefers being my I-VTEC meet co-pilot.

No more driving meets this year either so I'm not sure what to do. I'll happily give you something for it, maybe to post it and buy yourself a drink with?

Ok thanks. I was thinking of using self amalgamating tape haha.

That CAF duting is more than I paid for the K&N air filter!:D

Out of interest, do you find the car picks up better from low revs and in higher gears with the new panel filter? I've recently fitted a Green cotton filter to mine and just wondered whether it was placebo effect

How dirty was your old one?

i couldnt say the different filter element made the biggest difference on mine, i went with a foam one as i wanted the best filtration, the differences in filter element restriction are basically nil, but paper ones clog quicker and cotton gauze ones really do not filter well enough

I do indeed mate - 52 plate VTR.

I think the filter was changed on the last service and it's only done ~3k miles since then. Dunno about you, but my airbox was pretty much full of dead bees :D

Yeah, Saxo complete with insect graveyard haha!:D

The sound is quite good actually, makes me giggle a bit when I floor it:D

i few posts back i explained about the golf's airbox having a 'warm air intake' that is discarded and turned into another cold air one etc.
