Duke gets a release date

Any game that can get away with cracking jokes about the 'captain's log' is going to be a winner for me. Cut my teeth on the original playing 4 man deathmatch over the lan, can't wait for the return!
 
i've seen a few more vids, i see no reason why this game shouldn't be a real hit this year, yes the graphics look good too.

my pc is in real trouble now, i dont know what's wrong with it, it needs replaing very soon.

Fable won't do well I'm afraid - the bad smell around it has been spreading since console buyers voiced the dissatisfaction with the game. Witcher is aiming at a different audience, same with Dirt3. Alice...is sort of counting on the same cult following as Duke but I don't think will do much, which leaves the 3 shooters competing and that is why Duke may have trouble getting good sales.

oh i dont think so, i think Duke will do fine, simply because it's cult and has a good fan base, after all; this game will be miles better than BRINK, it'll be a scream ;)

i'm getting RAGE, DUKE and FEAR 3 and that's enough because this will keep me gaming for the next year, easy!

How big is the fan base though? They may be vocal, but that won't necessarily translate into high sales. Still think releasing it so close to the other two shooters is a mistake.

@Strife - as likely will I - just not on release. Game like that is bound to drop in price fast.
 
Im gona wait to see if theres many bugs or just crapness in it. If its good tho im hoping to get it as i think the comedy and adult theme of the duke nukem from the 90s was mint. I just hope a lot of adult comedy and themes went into this and not just pure shooter.
 
Hopefully the game is highly modable though you seem to see less and less of that nowadays. Would be cool to see the orginal remade in the engine for this one.
 
I still havent got around to playing the remake in HD of the old game. Looked alright as well just never had time to sort the remake or mod (whatever) out.

Access Club my arse! This is DNF, it's been 12 years+ and if they think only Access Club members will play the demo first well they don't know what's coming :p

Fable3 has been no3 best seller on Steam for several days now (no 2 in full price best sellers) just behind the witcher2 but ahead of Portal2, Dirt3 & Duke I think it will sell ok as a lot of casual players will pick it up on PC its like the sims it appeals to the non hardcore gamer. Still way too many games coming out within a month something has to give as few will buy all of these titles @ full price. PC gamers on here are in a very niche band the mainstream gamer picks up something with universal appeal easy to pick up & play most will only be recent PC gamers as well so as I said I think Duke will struggle the more they show the worse it looks. Nvidia showed some new duke screenshots yesterday & it looks really ugly June 3rd will be the public test as they are still releasing a demo for the Borderlands buyers who qualify for it.
 
I used to care about how DNF looked, especially back in the days when it was on the older unreal engine looking all fancy like it did over the other games at the time, but these days all I care about is the gameplay with DNF. If DNF delivers the feel good factor by opening a can of whoop ass on your enemies, then they've done well in my opinion.:p:cool:
