Dungeon keeper 2 (or 1)

I have been searching high and low in my attic and have found DK2:) installed it and ran it in 98\winme compatabilty mode and its working great in win7 :)

I did try that. with both.

I sent my dbg log to support ;) he said about playing with disable nosound. No fun without sound and have others puters to put it on.

I do believe it may be a driver issue with my dx2. As i'm running win7 64 U

I also thought that it was for both games. I see the other is in the making.

I'm suprised no one has mention this Prepare to Unleash Your Devious Side as Kalypso Media Announces “Dungeons”

This is awsome. I have it working in modern resolutions but it runs at double speed. ANyone else experienced this and been able to fix it? The readme suggests a Ctrl - for speed but it doesn't seem to work. I'm running Win 7 64.

Has anyone tried this at 1024 x 600?

I'm restricted to a Netbook right now, and was wondering if I could run this at it's native res?

Also I'm guessing Intel integrated GFX might just about cope with such an old game! :D
It's times like this I curse for being on OSX :(
Give VirtualBox a bash. :)

DK would be great in the iPhone/iPod I think, I wonder if anyone is working of a conversion?

Installed this today and had played for a couple of hours.

Although my native res is 1920x1080, 1360x768 seems to work best for ideal gameplay.

I'm pleased to say it's aged quite well. If it was newly released today as a budget indie game on Steam then I'm sure the reviews would be good and people would like it. A lot of old games I've picked up to play again have simply been outdated by evolving gaming conventions and ever improving sound and graphics. But there's really been very little similar to this released since it came out. A nice trip down memory lane. :)

I can't say i'm liking this KeeperFX mod.

Sure, it works on W7, which is great. But the AI changes, quite frankly, suck. "Improved AI" seems to be a case of making them super-aggressive which sounds good on paper, but it's hardly fun when they come storming through the front door from the get-go and you have a brilliant imp-fight!!!

I'm going back to DK2, it's buggy but at least it's not broken.

the "Improved AI" is a change to some imp code and a memory leak fix :o

Heh, imp fights ***! Not the first time on DK2 that i've been saved just based on the sheer amount of imps i had... i bit off more than i could chew, that's for sure :(

And from what I can see, pretty heavy changes to scripting and pathing.

I also wonder if it's something to do with either of:

-Fixed checking for gold bug (gold digging by computer)
-Rewritten computer tasks list

Hmm? ;)

keeperFX caused nothing but issues for me, a couple of levels required me to save every minute before it crashed, and I am at the 2nd level from the end and despite killing everyone, the game won't end! :(

If it's anything like the problems I had it's collision detection that's your problem...on the last land I had loads of beasties whacking the blooming dungeon heart for ages as it wasn't connecting, whether using call to arms or even in first person...very annoying!

Weird thing is once I completed it and started on the free play levels I haven't had a problem at all, it all works fine!

Doesn't work for me either, here's my current config and it wont load a campaign

I was having real trouble as well, I'm on Windows 7 64, it kept crashing to the desktop, this is my config:

To be honest though, I keep it in the basic 640x480 res, that's what it seems most stable in.

Reached level 18 of the FX version of Dunegon Keeper without any real difficulties but oh boy this one's a killer!

Anyone managed it yet?
