Absolutley correct , but if you think it’s ok to berate your own team ( pit wall ) in public with millions watching then you crack on.
What was the quote? He said basically “I’m ****ed now“ no? You’re clutching at straws. It’s hardly ripping his team tk shreds. Even if it was it’s no worse than other drivers have done. And apologised immediately and publicly which is more than can be said of MV.

Mind you if I had the reserve driver sitting on Totos knee all weekend I think I’d be cheesed off as well . He’s clearly not there because of George.
you need to hear all the radio on youtube as he said he was ****ed and then not much else until the end where he said "that was some of the best pitstops merc have ever done and to keep pushing"
Put any driver on the grid in that serrano and they will blow their top too..

Does anyone think Merc will win a race this season?

I hope Hamilton can get one, though it’s looking more than likely he’ll need a bit of luck to do, just to see him continue his record of a win every season.

You’d have to say they have a chance too. Ignoring Ferrari’s lol strategy Merc are arguably now the second best team.

No.

If this was the other way round and hammy benefited from the call would there be calls for a change in rules?
I wasn't calling for it, just suggesting an idea in response to people saying it is unfair.

It does seem unfair to me (a Newby to the sport) that a team can strategise and a driver build up a big lead, for that to be taken away by an incident.
And I know you'll say its always been like that, which still didn't make it fair does it? More interesting maybe.

As for today's race, yeh think Hamilton was not thinking about it in the heat of the moment, with George remaining out on the same tyres, max and Charles would have taken George and Lewis by the end of the race, so would have been p3 & p4 finish for them.

By the sounds of it he wasn’t wrong though. How many times has Max apologised for his language on the radio straight after on a televised interview?
Well... He was right.
Also where was Rus in the restart? Why wasn't he up vers behind?
I was wondering how come Mercedes didn’t put Hamilton and Russell on a direct radio so that Hamilton could tell him when he’s going? Might not work really.. but by the time RB realised and listened it, the delay in relating that to Max would have easily given them the advantage. Kinda like a 3-2-1-go? :p

But yes George was useless on that restart. Had Max had to defend Between the two of them they could have won it for Hamilton.

They're not allowed to directly talk to each other are they?

Close to zero chance they would have held Max up, especially on old mediums. Best strat was to pit both Mercs for softs and secure P2 and P3.

This. Merc are on cloud cuckoo land if they thought the Mercs on old mediums stood any chance against Max, and even Leclerc on fresh softs.

Max took Lewis on the first God damn straight!

It's like they forgot they don't have the fastest car anymore again.

They weren't really "old" mediums they were 5 laps old. Realistically they needed to hold on for about 5 laps until the edge came off the new tyres. Without DRS for 3 laps that doesn't seem impossible. Of course, Max then did it at the restart...

In hindsight this is clearly correct but I can see why they thought it was worth gambling on the win.
