Dying Light 2 PC Tech Review

Adding in RT and then trying to replicate the RT using rasterisation with hundreds of point lights, ssr, ssao and spending hundreds of hours tweaking and optimizing is a lot of effort.

That's why we sometimes get games where the rasterisation lighting isn't as good as you might hope, it's a lot of effort to get it up there to realism standards and after you've already put RT in, it's hard to justify spending time on trying to make basically two world class games for different hardware configurations.

played the game a fair bit already and running FSR together with 1440p is terrible no matter the amount of sharpening. 1440p Native even looks poor for some reason. However 4k res with FSR on top looks pretty alright and give the same performance as 1440p native no FSR so roughly 65-75fps for me. Tried turning on RT inside the bazaar but either my game/driver/something is broken or the only thing I noticed was the massive framerate hit. So again really dont care about RT. However, wish I had an OLED screen/monitor to play this on for some proper pitchblack darkness..

lol pc gamer says fsr looks better than dlss.
Lol. I tried it and looks like a blurry mess. It is no way near as good as DLSS. I hope it is just a bug that will get fixed and does not represent what fsr is.

Let's be fair, image quality is subjective, it always is.

The pcgamer guy obviously likes blurry, low quality FSR images more than the clean and crisp DLSS one , that's his prerogative

:cry::D

Very good imo.
+1

Yeah, I've had my eyes on that ever since I first heard of it... drooling a little bit right now :p.
Same here. But I may have to wait until black Friday or after for a price drop. I ain't paying a four figure sum for it, for it to only drop three to five hundred quid 6-12 months later.

Hell if when announced it is a looney price I might even pick up a 48 C1 if I see it for around 750ish again and wall mount it.

A mad lad re-created a scene of DL2 in Far Cry 5 on XSX:

Feel like I have just wasted 3 hours playing Dying Light 2 4 player CO_OP to just find out only the host progress through the story
Load up your own single player save and you left at the point before you started playing CO-OP but you do keep all the loot you have gotten.

I just do not understand how the game can not save progress for all the players? Is it really that hard?

Game running at maxed out setting without the RT at 4k FSR Quality mode boosts frames to almost double.

Sure if you go and zoom in I think you will find some issues with FSR but running it while playing its so smooth most of the time close to 100fps

RT in this game is insane especially when viewed on OLED. The first game I have seen which matches and even surpasses Cyberpunk in visual presentation. You are really missing out by playing the game with RT off. I would rather tolerate the 50-60 fps for that sweet RTGI.

I cannot deal with sub 60 framerates. Even in a game like this where frame pacing is pretty good. It sticks out like a splinter in the eye to me and I just quit playing. I'd rather loose eye candy then as long as the gameplay itself is there.

From the picture I've seen, the game looks good generally, but non-rt seems to suffer from too much light at times and rt seems to suffer from too little light at times. I think on the DF video, I liked the indoor scene with the seats best with the console settings and not the 'full PC' settings options they seemed to prefer.
