Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

Been havin a blast playin the game, performance wise i found that shadow quality and view distance were the biggest culprits, so i stuck view distance on a low setting and shadows on medium. Seemed to clear the most of my issues.

I was then having some huge lag during cutscenes and took me a while to realise that it was the game had defaulted to windowed mode, im guessing due to having a multi monitor set up. Anyway getting that set to full screen did the job.

Ive now disabled the film grain and will try the Chromatic removal tool in a bit also.

Game seems perfectly playable now on my rig and having a really good time with the gameplay.

I haven't had that problem Dempsey

Also if people need a teamspeak server feel free to hop on the one in my sig, in-game comms can be a bit iffy. Happy to organise rooms etc if needed.

Bit sneaky but what's a good weapon to stick with in the early stages of the game (after the prologue)?

Did my first night run last night, the atmosphere trying to avoid those 'nightmares' made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck! Scary stuff!! :D

It does a very good job of actually making you terrified of night time. Every time I pull a night mission I just think "Oh, nooooo..."

Anything that does reasonable damage with good handling that isn't a knife. I personally like the bleed effect attachments as you can't injure yourself.

game seems to run well for me, not measuring fps as that seems to overtake my enjoyment of the actual game, but seems smooth enough and no visible stutter. everything set to max at 1920x1200 except view distance left on default 50%, and shadows on high rather than very high, game installed on my 256 gig samsung evo ssd. game uses a lot of ram. uses 96% of my 6 gigs as seen on my logitech keyboard! most i've seen a game use so far. but still seems to be enough as seems to cap out at 96% and doesn't crash or anything. cpu usage as low as ever, like 30%

the quarantine side missions are so much fun, just did one in an abandoned supermarket which was great fun :D

Im spending more of my time getting distracted capturing safe houses and just generally messing around, im hoping im not gimping the campaign by levelling up by doing side stuff.

Cheers chaps. I came across a group of Rais' hoodlums standing over a couple of plasticuffed prisoners, 4 bad guys and I liked the look of their weapons. So I sneaked up on them and had a square go.

Not the best decision in the game I've made so far. :p

is ther any way to turn off "weapon ineffective messages" that appear smack bang in the middle of the screen and wont go away, ads a i cant find any metal parts to repair them! also any way i can go back to using fists when my weapons break?

Don't think you can go back to fists. As for metal you can scrap unwanted weapons for metal, buy it and just search everywhere.

ah scrapping unwanted weapons, thanks thatll help a lot! still dunno why disabling hud hints didnt stop messages like "ineffective weapon" and "you can craft a new item" constantly appearing. also what does the hold x to swap weapon" option do? holding x doesnt seem to do anything!

Im not sure but i would guess it means you swap with your currently equipped weapon, rather than going into your inventory.
