Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

What's the general consensus on this game then? Not normally my type of game so I am interested

I was a bit 'Hmm.....' Before I got it but despite only being about 9% into the game, I'm hooked. I wasn't too fussed on the Dead Island games but this is hugely more enjoyable so far. Honestly, the night missions are utterly terrifying sometimes, the game oozes atmosphere.

is ther any way to turn off "weapon ineffective messages" that appear smack bang in the middle of the screen and wont go away, ads a i cant find any metal parts to repair them! also any way i can go back to using fists when my weapons break?

You should have tons of metal scrap, haha. Think I have like 60. Surely you can buy metal if need be?

I am on the cease and desist side mission, I have the tins of paint and i need to paint the roof for the helicopter. I'm on the roof but what do I do next there is no paint in my inventory and there is nothing to select on the roof. Any idea what I do?

Ignore I have done it.

How would my rig (in sig) handle this, and is the single player any good ?

Didn't know it was out yet, and thought it was only multi :p

will handle it probably fine, since my rig does, the two settings that seem to kill performance for a lot of people are view distance.. so keep it at the default 50% and shadows, so set them on high instead of very high, makes no noticeable difference to gfx, and makes the game much smoother.

Feels a bit like Crysis 2/3 with Zombies.

I don't get a Crysis feeling from it... except for the system-spanking graphics, maybe.

Feels to me more like "Dead Island 2.0".

As in, same kind of melee-focused gameplay and zombies, but infinitely more refined. The characters are a million times better, with the random quests actually feeling like something worth doing, and the general storyline is compelling.

The parkour system adds a lot to it. It's thoroughly addictive stuff. Really well acted by the voiceover peeps, too. The fact that you're never short of something to do makes it a real time-sink. I've been hammering it since release, not really bothering TOO much with side missions, and still not even 50% through the main story.

Thanks :)

The game is so much fun, its great when you find a funny little glitch moment and record it. Yeah co-op would be fun, just need to start playing and not thinking about what to record lol

Neo, add me on steam mate, I'll run around and co-op with you, did 97% of the story line on coop, just need to wait until the guy I did coop with to come back on, so I can finish it completely.

Right now, I am back in the slums running around doing some side quests and generally being a pain in the backside to zombies..

TKM52 on steam, anyone else is free to add me as well if they fancy some coop also.

I dunno why but I'm sometimes finding I'm getting a bit of a Metro 2033 feel with even a few snippets of STALKER popping up now and again. Think it could be the NPC accents?

Had a comedy moment just now - Armed a car trap and a zombie climbed up on to the roof. *BANG* - He shot straight as a die up about 50 ft in the air and when he came back down he landed head first on the boot of the car with the ensuing tide of blood occurring. :D

This game has some great comedy \ brown pants moments the first time I came across a suicidal zombie and tonight when came across a screaming zombie baby really scared me. The sounds effects are spine tingly.
