Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

The beginnings a trudge, went to see that Rahim, patched up number 13 with the alco and gauze.

Seems to run pretty well, using these settings @ 1080p

AA is off (doesn't seem to make much difference on or off tbh that), and Texture Quality, doesn't go higher than High.

Lowest ive seen indoors is around 70, and when looking out from the windows and balconys over the city, im getting 100+.

Suppose once i get outside, and theres zombies all over the shop, my frames will crash :p

EDIT: Thought it would have been bigger tbh, game folders only just over 16GB, and there was no First Time Setup when hitting Play, it just loaded straight up.

I'm getting serious outdoor chugs at the moment. Need to look at the CPU/GPU utilisation.

Seems to be when there's the white particles in the air outside, I'm sub 30 frames for sure.

Poor 780Ti is taking a beating.

I believe you press F on the inventory to see the collectibles

Cheers. :)

Still getting this weird noise issue when the audio seems to stutter and break up and at the same time the visuals stutter a bit in connection with it. Haven't seen anything anywhere else online to indicate this is an issue though. Happens randomly so no big deal, can live with it.

It is an issue there was a post on steam community page with a handful of people including me affected by it. Changing my system sound to 48k sample rate and 16bit bit depth sorted it for the moment, bit annoying but better than having to restart the game every 20mins.

Steam news update from Techland today.

I like Techland at the mo :)

Dear Gamers,

With the recent patch (1.2.1) on Steam we blocked cheating to make sure the game’s PvP system (Be The Zombie) would not be abused. This, however, had the side-effect of hindering mod-makers from making changes to the game.

Creating obstacles for modders has never been our intention, and we are sorry for the inconvenience. We are now working on a quick patch that will re-enable common tweaks while stopping cheating in the game’s multiplayer mode.

At Techland, we have always supported the mod community, and loved seeing how our own game can be changed by the players. A big part of the original Dead Island’s success was the passion and creativity of mod-makers from our community. We want the same for Dying Light. For quite some time, we have been working, and still are, on giving modders all the power we can. We will keep you updated!

Nice one, cheers. Didn't realise it had been a known issue so thanks for the heads up. I'll give that fix a bash and see how it is. I play using USB headphones - Turtle Beach XL1's so hopefully it won't make a noticeable difference.

At the moment i'm getting my kicks out of using fire crackers and then torching the zombies with Molotov cocktails oh and kicking them off buildings oh and going on a rampage with the shot gun blowing legs off then watching the zombies crawl and finishing them off with a head stamp.

Anyone up for some coop tonight. My kids go to bed about 8pm so I'm free from then my steam name is Cool Hand Luke

Had my first CTD this evening. It happened when there was a ton of stuff going on in front of me - I had got caught out in the open by a horde of zombies and rather than run I decided to go 'whoop ass' on them with my sword. Lots of slashing going on and then a black screen followed by a ' Dying Light has stopped working' message.

Are you getting the resizebuffer error?

If so, it's a known bug, which I was also getting. Setting my GPU to default clocks has cured it.

I don't get any specific error, it just freezes and disappears and I'm back at the desktop. sometimes get a "game has stopped working, report it" message but its random.

I've noticed getting some slow down on some cut scenes though.
