Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

this is not a game if you suffer from Vertigo, the developers need to mention this, because i brought the game not knowing just how bad it is. the roofs are ok etc, but the radio masts are dreadful, esp on a large tv, the image sways around quite a lot, it gives you dreadful motion sickness and a feeling of sheer terror.........the climbing needs to be made much easier here.

It's why I don't play it very much, it's as bad as Mirrors Edge, so I was prepared :p

.

Also if it's a fear of heights you have it's acrophobia (which I actually have and the game doesn't trigger me wanting to walk over the edge or have a panic attack) not vertigo and if it is vertigo you have I'm not sure why that's being triggered by you climbing a tall tower unless you're intentionally looking straight down which you may have to do once but after that why would you continue climbing the tower? Just avoid it.

now this really is DUMB, you have to climb the tower to carry on with the game and it's not just 1/2 way up, it right up to the very top !!!

i dont bother looking at loads of videos first, all i saw was him jumping over fences and killing zombies, i saw no 600ft radio tower !!!!

as i said, this game is far too much if you suffer from Vertigo, it triggers vertigo instantly, even climbing along a ledge on a bridge triggers Vertigo

yes in these few areas it's very close to a delete job, you have to stare all around the radio mast to work out how to climb and this makes you feel really sick, it has no guard rails, no ladders, it makes me sick just thinking about it right now.

and all the time the image is swaying from side to side, the image is yawing about a foot in each direction and you can feel the wind whistling past you ............man it's bad.

What you have to climb up the tower repeatedly to continue or just the once? If it's not just once then fair enough it's a problem but it still doesn't excuse you for knowing you have this condition and not looking further into it, especially since by your own admission you've watched a video for a game which contains lots of free style running and jumping over fences.

The developers shouldn't dumb down the game by removing towers just because people don't look into what they're buying. That is entirely the buyers fault.

Also if the game is genuinely making you feel dizzy and unwell why do you continue to play it? Surely that's stupidity in itself?

I loved the Radio Tower climb. Found it miles to better than the relatively dumb FC4 towers. Can you also climb the Red and White one that you can see in the distance?

no because i spent a lot of money on it, plus i'm looking for other ways to climb all the time, which i usually can, it's only the Radio towers that are really bad because here your choice is limited to ZERO, there is only one way up.

i find it so annoying when you get up there, that there's Zombies up there too

there's way too many Zombies in this game, they're in every building, around every corner, you get sick of seeing them, you end up saying ``leave me alone, just go away`` esp at 2am in the morning

but you need this game because there's nothing else to play.

but saying this, the graphics look brilliant, the buildings are top quality and the game runs perfectly, this Sector O would be a perfect location for Dishonored 2 ;)

.

wow, you're complaining that a free running zombie game has too many zombies and the climbs are too high?

Do you have an account on mumsnet by any chance?

Anyone used the companion app?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.techland.dyingLight.CA&hl=en

Not tried it - why I'm asking, spotted it in the dying light subreddit where they were moaning about constant notifications from it which apparently has now been fixed.

Yes, it's a real boon. Got rakes of materials and med kits using it. Just remember to heal your scouts and don't let them die like I did...

Simple as well. In the app, you just click and drop items from your inventory into a package and send - that's it. Collect them off the quarter master in game.

Never been sure how people's phobias can carry over into games, I'm terrified of spiders & heights yet no spider in a game nor has any game with heights bothered me. Hope you find a way around it though Mal, perhaps have somebody climb the towers for you?

i did the radio tower but failed at the end, i couldn't get out of the sewer by climbing that long ladder after being chased, i couldn't grab hold of it.... too scared, i died about 50 times... my guess is there's far more sewers to go before i get to Ries, so i just said that's it no more.

** No personal attacks ** when you're scared of heights it sort of freezes you with terror and you cant press the keys properly, because i cant get him to jump in the sewers like he'll jump across the rooftops, the terror also builds up because you're being chased, so you're in a blind panic and running like crazy, great shame because the combat was improving as i levelled up.... there's only one way to play it and it works too, play it semi- drunk because it calms me right down and kills the phobia straight away

but i do like playing as the Zombie, so i might give it a go online tomorrow.:D

There's a choke point in Sector 0 where you can pair up and safely kill all night without even moving, discovered it by accident earlier but just did it a second time to see how long we could last - one side gets twice as many zombies as the other but it's manageable by two reasonably well levelled players with koreks. I'll post a link or screenshot when I have it uploaded.

Here's a screenshot near the end of the night. Well over 100 kills, probably closer to 200 in one night (so points doubled)

This is only HALF the loot, as I'd picked up the other side of the wall by this point and as shown in the clip I'm uploading just now a few of these has scrolling look so would be 3 or 4 items each.

shouldnt this kind of help you overcome your fear ...or does it not work like that :p

the zombie is easy because he's like Spiderman, so i feel no terror at all, he just leaps everywhere and sticks to everything, he pretty cool too, i feel no terror in Dishonored either, because he can teleport in mid air to save himself if he falls..

but playing as a normal person is too realistic, because he has no special powers, he just drops... you sense this instantly.

When people are drunk they think they are some kind of super hero, so yes it does.

:D

When I was at Uni one guy in my halls who was drunk thought he was spiderman, unfortunately he climbed of the balcony and fell to his death.
