Dying Light - PC next gen zombie open world game?

Gamble feel free to hop on our TS mate, I get the feeling we'll have more than one co-op game going and many of us wouldn't mind playing the starter missions again as they were a great laugh (and less stressful!) :)

Night time is a lot more fun over there, get on the cables between buildings, you only have to worry about Toads and volatives:

No swearing in video and it's age restricted to play.

I finally got this game after the latest patch got good reviews from people as far as performance. Runs fantastic... BUT the damn chromatic aberration gives me a freakin headache. I've tried two mod tools to get rid of it but it's still there. Anyone had any success?

Since AMD haven't released new drivers with a Crossfire profile, would anyone mind letting me know how 1 x 290 performs at 1440p after this weekend's patch? Thanks :)

You're in luck! I'm only running it on a single 290 at the moment. 1440p and the only things turned off are Nvidia HBAO and motion blur. AO on, fov 60/92 or whatever it reads (almost all the way), view distance half way. Game looks awesome (minus that god damn chromatic aberration).

My card is oc to only 1100mhz on the core, thats it. I locked the fps to 48 (since it's divisible in to my 96hz refresh rate) and it absolutely never budges no matter how much is going on in my fov. Before locking it though I rarely went under 60fps but 60 doesn't divide in to my refresh properly and didn't feel as smooth :)

Once multi gpu works right I'll eeeaaaaaaaaaaaasily stay locked at 96hz

I think I may during the week!

Started playing it tonight, I have only done a few bits and pieces and the mothers day side mission but so far so good.

FPS seems to stick to around 55/60 which is good but I think I need to change my card usage priorities as card 1 is doing a lot more work than 2 - weird.

Anyway, runs well and its fun so far!!

Might have to give that a go! How come they never attacked from the back?

because he's at the other end of the wires and the Zombies cant cross that far without falling off

stand right beside the water, let the Volatiles get really close to you and then just step back, the volatiles will follow you into the water and drown, you'll get loads of money off them

^^ What Max says. I'm at the safezone near the quartermaster in Sector 0 so they can't climb up behind. Apoc (ss89) and I tried it elsewhere last night, arguably more enjoyable and challenging but a heck of a lot more running about involved!

Only things you need to watch for are Toads and Volatiles which can both spit from range, you need to kill them quickly. Volatiles only spit if they can't path to you (run up and hit you) so you can enable this by going on a roof top and popping out of sight, they'll then come after you. Toads will stay put - so you've no choice but to shoot them or go down and take them out. I've maxed out combat skill so camping like this is pretty pointless for me now but damn it can be a laugh!

aah ok, safezone behind you :D

yes it looks great fun, i'm going to try this tonight, the game is much easier once you find the high end weapons/max him out, there's also the area around the Radio Station that's really good fun too.

After hitting 25 survivor, most of the game is pretty trivial with the weapons you get. I'm cruising around with a modified superior katana, modified with the toxic cutter and 3 kings mods, has something like 2100 damage on it!

Hopefully they implement a hard mode or something soon.

Game told me it took me 33h to finish almost everything, just one quest I missed somewhere :(

It's been the best game I've played for a while!

indeed coming up to 30 hours myself (although i've left it open so i'd say less)

got 3 side missions left and a few achievements to do.

My only complaint is that there is a level cap. I don't care if you just get stronger and no unlocks it annoys me that I don't get XP for kills anymore :)

Annoyed me in fallout too oh I'm level 30 now killing things and exploring is pointless

Must admit running up and 1 hitting the giant things with a 1000 dmg kopesh doesn't get old.

There are a few bugs and silly gripes i have but I have enjoyed the game a lot. I hope DLC adds towns, levels and challenges.

Really liked the mystery mission where you only had your torch scared the **** out of me despite knowing it was coming :)

Thanks guys, still new in sector 0 so don't really know my way about. I'll give this a go sometime soon as in the slums I used to initiate pursuits with volatiles at night and just run for my life until I get to a safe zone or they get to me :p Found that quite fun
