E-on want to install a Smart meter

I appreciate it all depends where you live so direct comparisons are a bit pointless, but I'm on 20p per day standing charge and 12p per unit with PFP.
yea huge difference compared to what I've been paying.

I think I will ask to be put on a normal meter or just move to a different company who would give me one.
I never had debts, never even used the emergency credit on the meter once and I have had this place for about 10 years..

occasionally E.on will send me a cheque saying I've been over charged. I bet it's when they get told off for overcharging people

It's got to be worth looking into, you can save yourself a decent bit of money over the course of a year. I only properly realised a couple of years ago what sort of price difference there is between the providers. Even then, some providers don't give you their cheapest deals direct; I was with Scottish Power and their cheapest tariff for me at one point was only available on certain price comparison sites, it didn't appear at all on their website as an option.

Don't be afraid to consider switching providers either, it's really easy.
