*** E3 2011 Thread ***

What about Forza, GoW, Halo, Tomb Raider, Mass Effect, Ghost Recon, MW3?

Tomb Raider, Mass Effect, Ghost Recon, MW3 - all coming to ps3 and pc.

so forza, GOW and Halo? great games but thats it for a whole year? unless of course you have a kinect and then you can play disneyland adventures or sesame street. **** YEH!!!

So how was Sony's? Read the highlights and there didn't seem much surprising. Still thinking about a PS3, hoped this would convince me.

If the back catalogue of games and the games out for this year cant convince you then i fear its to late for you lol.
This was mostly about the PSV for what i see, with a bit of focus on move to show Sony are still supporting it, they showed a few new exclusive games and the Uncharted 3 live demo looked fantastic. Nintendo was always going to be the better conference as new home console stuff is always pretty cool, still think it will be the case.

You said zero interest, I listed several games they presented which show a clear interest. Now stop trolling.

Get a grip.
you really think MS give a **** about your average gamer now? haha, they are going after Nintendos market in full force, if you cant see that after that poor E3 showing from them then omg.

So you keep saying, yet you present little to no evidence while I present evidence showing the opposite.

Why would we be getting those games if they had no interest in that market? Why would they have paid a large amount (probably) for time exclusivity on MW3 DLC? Just because they're expanding their target audience (as Sony are as well) doesn't mean they're disregarding their existing audience.

I think the mostly Kinect focused conference was all the evidence you need. Thats their money train now, anything else is a small effort to keep current gamers remotely happy.

I dont think he was trying to troll - its does make you think though out of the games mentioned which ones are actually being deved/published by MS - considering that there definitely seems to be movement away from hardcore gamers...

ps3ud0

E3 is not the be all and end all, it's just used to promote sales, create hype in whatever market they feel fit, the hardcore games are still there. 360's biggest games hardly need promoting so much these days, they sell no matter what. They are aiming at the family market this year, but that sits right along side normal games.

You would say Sony are moving away from home consoles if you take their press conference as it was, all about the portable really and a TV......

What i would say apart from the constant Halo, Fable, Forza updates (no bad thing) it seems MS 1st party studios are creating more casual Kinect based games and leave the core games to the multiplatform devs. I dont think its the case they have no interest, more of a case they dont have the studios to do everything they want so rely on making MP games like COD more of a part of the 360 game line up than other consoles.

My take is that MS know their audience.

They know the 'core' gamers on the 360, want a COD game to keep them happy for a year, for the ones that don't there is BF3. They also have the GOW faithful which they are catering for, and they also have the Halo base covered, and they have the racing wrapped up with Forza 4.

They don't appear to be deserting their 'loyal hardcore' fans at all, just giving them what they want in timed DLC first etc etc.

The Kinect thing was always going to be a big focus and have aggressive marketing behind it as MS want the Wii share of the market.

The 360 can appeal to all markets, just like the PS3 can.
