E6700's OEM arriving tomorrow - Shipment confirmed!!!

Kinda hard to say that the 6600 is a better overclocker when no-one has a retail one yet.

But yeah i do feel slightly mad upgrading my order. Still my reasoning is i've already got all the other gear for my upgrade here, and if a better motherboard or something were to come out while i still hadn't been able to use this lot i'd be far more annoyed than i am spending £150 for a 270Mhz upgrade and a chance to put my machine together sooner.

If only there was a motherboard which supports conroe and SLI without using dodgy drivers id so be ordering one of these now. :(

ive been convinceing my self not to order one for the last hour in work but ah well its not hard waiting but looking at my new mb and ram sitting on my desk is hard but i have a t2400 labtop and a 3700 gaming rig so i guess im in a better place than most!!

lol u know what all u guys could do buy a 6300 till ure 6600 comes and ull still have a conroe rig and saved 20 quid from upgradeing to a 6700 and have 2 cpus!!!!!! best of both worlds and u woudln't loose much money on ebay!!! plus u could have the 6300 by 2morrow and oc it to 6700 spec till ure 6600 comes!!! im a genius!!!

hehe why not, but I think I'd rather just buy a 6700.

Gibbo, I've got a Intel DP965LT 965 in my conroe order but I'm guessing it wont be out if you manage to source some E6600 OEMs. When and if that day comes would I be better of changing my mobo to a DS3 so my conroe priority isn't given away?

And right there you've made me realise i can wait and put the not insignificant £150 saving towards my Merom laptop upgrade in a few months.. phew.

I'm a bit new to all this lark (or rather, a bit rusty - I haven't built a PC since my ageing Athlon XP 1700+) but will these prices tend to drop over the next couple of months? Perhaps as the OEM versions become available and the price war escalates?

Half of me wants a new machine right now, but half of me says wait and see... Ahhh I'm too busy at the moment anyway... But a new machine... I'm having real trouble deciding...

Just hold out mate, prices will fall once they become readily available. Me.. I'm holding out for the 6600s, and hopefully there will be plenty to go around, since lots of people are changing there orders to 6700s. ;)

Me too, I've waited this long for it so a few more weeks wont go a miss

HI there

Well folks I can't believe this!!

I just spoke to our distributors who have just informed me that due to their warehouse been busy they won't be able to ship the product out tonight.

I really don't understand, these are one of the largest European disties who knew exactly what was happening this week and have not even brought in extra staff to try and cope with demand. :(

So after lots of shouting the best they can do is to get the shipment with us for Monday morning, they can't even manage a same day due to there been piles of other product in front of this to book in.

Intel's launched has been ruined, firstly by themselves and now by their distributors. Absolute shambles......

wonder if its anything to do with sacking all those thousands of managers etc

Nope this is down to lack of passion at our disti's. They are just regular staff who get paid a wage who only do as much is required to get paid.

They have no passion, no willingness to go the extra step and as such they let us all down.

Normally they are a good supplier but my account manager is away and he always puts in a good effort but now were just left with the usual randoms who don't care.

I know how you all feel and I feel it too....... :(

I have to say nice going though Gibbo.

Pity they weren't 6600's. I reckon 6600's are the sweet spot for price performance. Intel probably know it, we know it and HP and Dell know it.

What's the betting they are the last to become available :-(

I'll hold out.. as mentioned extra £150 for 270mhz? I think not.
