EA Closing all BF2 servers?

I am been playing karkand infantry only for the last 6-7 years. apart from far cry and oblivion have not really bothered with any other game on this pc.

The people on this forum should arrange a meet at some point and get some karkand going
 
Whatever happens, at least Project Reality will still be going. They've created their own master server which is apparently running rather nicely. Forgotten Hope 2 is also going to be using it.
 
Is PR still active then ? Is it worth me downloading & trying ? How much waiting around or can you drop in to instant action ?
 
There's still a good few 100 player servers that are full most evenings. Had a good few sessions over the weekend. Still miles better than these newly released "realistic" games.
 
was about to ask about PR but glad to see it will remain alive!!! :D wish BF3/4 we're so bugged and allowed mods..... PR on BF4 with sweet FX and custom maps would be SWEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!

Online services for EA games on the GameSpy platform will be closed down at the end of June.

We know some of these games are still fan favorites, including Battlefield 2, Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and Command & Conquer games. We are still investigating community-supported options to preserve online functionality for these titles, such as multiplayer. Significant technical hurdles remain, and at this time we don’t have anything to announce.

I feel your pain . Been playing this since release and its game play is so far ahead of all the other bf games that came after it . Will be playing this constantly now untill shut off :mad:

I am downloading Project reality as people have said it wont be stopping. Anyone else here play project reality. Any server recommendations when I get my download finished?
 
I play every now and then. You'll only find a couple servers that are full in the evenings so not much choice. It still is a fantastic game when everyone knows what they are meant to be doing.
 
@everyone

go to www.battlelog.co and register to keep your bf2 name and stats.They are (I hope) going to be releasing a patch to allow us to keep playing bf2 online, as usual EA doing nothing about this issue.

its .co and NOT .com in www.battlelog.co

lets hope we all can keep playing bf2 online, it will be special game even after EA release bf20 lol.
