EA Closing all BF2 servers?

Sad indeed, this happened to one of my other favourite all time games Raven Shield, used to play these two alternately for about 8 years :(

Will my BF2 stats still be available after gamespy servers are shutdown?

I would give my right ******* ... in fact both my balls to go back and play this from scratch while it being popular!

BF2 is and always will be my all time favourite game... Followed by Dayz and Epoch :(

I do feel some connection tho when playing Arma 2/3.
 
It wasn't too late to go back! I played a good number of hours this weekend and it really stood the test of time, maybe because I used to only be able to play on medium gfx but now can max it out :D Wish I hadn't put this down for the last 4 years, especially with its imminent shutdown.

I really enjoyed it, so much better than BF3. I tried playing the two games back to back and BF2 felt so much more tactical and enjoyable whereas BF3 was all spawn, die, spawn, die, rinse, repeat.

I really hope BF2 can survive through www.revivebf2.com, it would be a shame to lose the classic. How would DICE know what they should be aspiring to when they make BF16 if they can't play the originals ;) :cool:

BF2 makes BF3/4 etc look like a joke.

BF2 was probably the best multiplayer game ever. Probably still is. 2142 is also up there - a joint leader. The closest game to BF2 these days is Planetside 2, imo.

Someone needs to make an EXACT remake just with updated gfx.
