EAFC 25

I'm finding 3ATB is really poor this year. I've used it twice, first time I failed to qualify for WL 8 times in a row (for context I've qualified every single WL in 2024 first or second attempt, so the last 40+ except that one), then again this week and started off 0-9 in WL (normally get 5-7 wins in the new format). I ended up with 3 wins which is my lowest of all time after switching to 5ATB which means even the Richarlison objective will require 7 wins next week. I used to average 11 wins in FIFA23 and 10 in FC24. It was crazy stuff, I remember I lost 0-8 in the 6th and 7th matches which seems nonsense as I should've been playing people with -5 and -6 form they shouldn't be the hardest matches.

Generally I seem to be struggling to break teams down, and throw away so many leads. I've lost a lot of games where I haven't felt outclassed (which obviously happens sometimes) but I keep somehow losing the ball after doing a tackle or the defender 'locks on' to a run to the wrong place so is ignoring controller input.

Not sure where to go next, I've never quit UT before the next version comes out before but I might this time. Whatever I'm doing, it isn't working, maybe I need to experiment a bit more with Roles rather than just picking their best roles.
Do Keane SBC if it's available and spam power shots before they patch it.

Another RAT i see :)

Can't blame them I suppose. But people are just buying the power shot players, getting around the edge of the box and shooting. You'll either get a goal or a corner guaranteed. And if you've got Virgil then your 70% guaranteed of a corner goal.

If you can't beat them, join them :). When you get to age of 47 and your reflexis not what they use to be then you need every single advantage you can get.

I've about given up, you could give me the best player in every position and I'll still hate the game :(

Even the menus are driving me crazy with the bugs and crashes.

Packed Theo Hernandez from squad battle totw pack, sold him for 630K straightaway. I don't like holding on to any cards who hold any sort of value in current market, just like to run untradeable team most of the year.

I don’t play any others games these days so don’t have much option.
Sort of opposite problem here, since I started playing UT a couple of years ago I've largely stopped playing other games except for with my kids, but not because of lack of interest. UT needs like 20 hours a week to keep your head above water which doesn't leave any time for other games, I've got a huge backlog of games I want to play.

I guess the tipping point is the fact I seem to have not even plateaued but actually regressed in terms of performance in fc25, I still really enjoy the team building aspects like getting new cards, figuring out the best team to use in the friendly cups etc but the actual bread and butter of playing rivals and champs with primary team I'm just not getting anywhere. Maybe some of it is down to luck idk, I have literally zero promo cards in my first choice XI that I packed, all of them came from SBCs, season pass rewards or objectives and then I have gold Allison, gold VVD, gold VdV (evo). It feels like my squad is changing slower than the past couple of years, it's been 88 rated for ages. Found a screenshot from 3rd Dec last year I had 4 icons and 4 players rated 90+ in starting XI. Later in December I had a 91 rated squad with 6 players rated 92+. Rating isn't everything but it's probably the first time in FIFA where I'm not ever that clear on what my best team is, I've got a bunch of high 80s cards that seem ok but I have to build around certain leagues as I only have 1 icon who isn't great anyway (Rush). Like I have handfuls of good players from La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, NWSL but my team is based around Bundesliga and EPL atm. I've done some nice evos that have 8+ playstyles but other than VdV I can't really fit them in.

No, the closest thing I do to that is I score quite a lot of goals off corners but I don't really see that as abusing mechanics. My LM has Power Shot+ and I score with that maybe 1 in 3 matches at most as they aren't normally in position for it with enough space, I don't spam long range looping finesse/trivela, I don't do kickoff glitches, I very rarely use skill moves. Basically I try to play a build up using ground passes, dribbling into spaces, triggering runs for throughballs, occasionally switching the play to the other flank. I am finding I get caught offside a lot more this year which maybe stops a fair proportion of my attacks.
