My home page is news.yahoo.co.uk and they do have some funny stories.

Today's was ear wax that looked like a cockroach when it was washed out - so tell me who has ear wax - as far as I can remember none of my family has had it so is it a generic thing or just poor hygiene.

The guy in chair looked quite normal and clean so how did he end up with this great big chunk of ear wax.

Won't link it but just put it in on the tube - it really is unbelievable.

Is this a third world problem ?

I guess I have a lot of earwax. I get my left ear cleaned at the doc's every couple of years because it gets blocked- I have to wait an hour for it to pop in the mornings which is annoying! I do use earsticks but I also think I am an earwax-y person, since you asked.

Pour olive oil in every few days to prevent buildup.

Probably used those cotton bud-sticks to clean his ears - all it does is push wax further down the ear canal and increase the chances of a plug forming.

I was shocked how common that is. The first time I had seen my GP in decades for an ear infection after a heavy cold in December 2012, that was the first thing she asked me. I said no which is true. She said good, good.

I had fluid built up in front of the drum. Had to get tablets and nasal spray. Apart from that, they recommend almond oil sitting in warm water for a while. Test it with a pipet on your skin to make sure it is neither too hot or too cool. Let it slip into the canal from the pipet and do its magic then wash your ears out.

Need my ears syringed. I could probably grow tomatoes in my ears!

@OP if you think that's bad, take a look at this: http://i.imgur.com/INmHEnB.gifv

WTF was that??? I have to have my left ear hoovered out every year or so after a operation I had back in the 90's. Horrible it is because it makes me feel really dizzy and sick. Passed out once too!!

I can't go a week without using cotton buds to clean my ears out - And before I get abused, I know it's bad for my ears - My dad has bad hearing, I've been doomed from the beginning :p

Great huh? :)

I suffer from **** ears since a kid. I have suffered from glue ear several times and have had 4 courses of grommets. I can do weird things like hear my eyeballs moving and exhale through my left ear. But get an ear infection at least once a year.
Go me!

Ear wax however, not too bad recently, though I keep them clean and do what I can to control build up.

Lol! You're Lloyd Bridges?

If you have sticky gooey earwax you probably have bad body odour. Those with dry ear wax are less pungent.

It sounds like you have given this a lot of thought and made some comparative studies and am a bit of an expert. Are you a secretion inspector or is it just a hobby?
