Earthquake in Japan....9.0...ouch!

I was kinda on about the way man is making things happen a bit more quickly, ie global warming. I know about the plates :

Not having ago here but it annoys me about people talking about global warming,

No one was around when the Ice Age melted so just because the planet is going through it's cycle we can't blame everything on global warming, okay we might contribute to it but we're not to blame for everything

Has anyone seen that picture yet, closer to the bottom of the story of the fireball at the oil refinery, I knew the flames were huge and VERY high compared to the buildings around it but all the footage was at an angle.

That picture is just, jesus, I'd be pretty surprised if people didn't die at the oil refinery, and in those situations its not uncommon for firefighters to die trying to put those types of fires out, how in the sweet jesus do you fight a fire like that, let it burn out, get a jet in with a air consuming type missile to try and put it out.

I guess as the caption says that was just a 'fireball' it would have settled down after that. But yeah, not an easy one to put out, turn the taps off and just stand well back?

It's night time there now too, easy to forget about, makes all this escaping/rescuing so much harder!

Even at an angle the main fireball looked easily a mile high :S (well 4000-5000 feet).

EDIT: Think thats an earlier video/picture, it went up really big just now.

Japanese police have now confirmed that between 200 and 300 bodies have been found on the beach near Sendai, the closest city to the epicentre. NHK television said the victims appeared to have drowned. Earlier, police said at least 60 people had been killed and 56 were missing.
