Hi all,

As the Trackday in May is off I thought it would be a good time to organise a meet in the East of England and as discussed before Christmas there was some interest in Go Karting.

Here are the details:

Red Lodge Karting Ltd.
Red Lodge
Suffolk
IP28 8LE

Minium of 10 people and Maximum of 20.

Mini GP 40 Lap 1200m Format £50 http://www.redlodgekarting.com/grandprix.html

I have contacted them and booked date and time.

Would need to be there for 15:15pm ish to start at 15:45pm on the 11th.

We will be finished around 6pm when we will drive to a local pub for dinner.

Pub Details
The Stag at Breckland Lodge
London Road
Attleborough,
Norfolk
NR17 1AY
http://www.brecklandlodge.co.uk/the-stag

Its 30min up the road from the Kart track and has good parking.

If you just want to come and spectate and then go to the pub (or just Pub!) that is fine also.

Thanks all

JP

Update 04/03:
Just paid a deposit so the time and date is confirmed.
Need to pay the full amount for a minimum of 10 drivers 21 days before the day.
I can do that no problem and take the first 9 peoples payments on the day then the rest pay direct to Red Lodge.

Video cameras such as Go Pro are allowed as long as they are well secured.
Also you can use your own helmets, gloves, boots etc if you have them.

Update 18/4:
I have now paid the full amount for 10 people so if we can get some more people firmed up over the next week or so that would be great.

Would love to but it's the wrong side of the country for me :(

Sorry about that! There is always the RR day next month in Gloucestershire that you could go to?

For an extra £3 you may as well do the 50 lap :D

Minimum of 10 racers, but max of 20. I think you could potentially fill the 20.

Good point, Changed it to 50. Would be good to fill the 20 slots!

Nice one.
If people can say the car also since it is a "Motors meet", also helps to know who's who in the car park.

I'd like to do this, then I can book Buckmoore Park for Sept again and not feel guilty about doing the same track twice in a row.

Ill take that as a Yes and add you to the list :D

I'm moving back up north that day :(

Any chance of moving it to the weekend before?

Sorry Peter, I can't do that weekend or the 18th. If we get lots of people who can't do the 11th I will look at doing another date but with the RR day at the end of April I run out of weekends!

I can always pick you up on my way through Norwich (I live up by North Walsham).

I did think 60km would be a bit much but as Kosta pointed out its only 3 quid and I think we want a good hour or so of racing or it will be all over before 11am!

Just had an email from Red Lodge Karting to inform me that the morning session has now been booked by someone else. Obviously I couldn't commit until I knew numbers from here.

So they now offer me the afternoon session starting at 15:45pm.

I am still good with that if others are. Gives people plenty of time to arrive, can meet up before hand, go karting and then pub for dinner?

If that is a problem for anyone, please let me know. I will be sending them a deposit tomorrow if its still all good.

Nice one, list updated.

I have also updated the details to the Mini GP 40 format, after talking with the event organiser at the track that was recommended.

Will get pub details over the next few days, just need to go on a scouting mission first ;)

2hrs 45 mins away

Oh go on then!!
(Will need to confirm I can have that Saturday off work though as there might be a rolling road day on and no other ****er wants to do them. :D )

I'll be in my Discovery :D (its no cheaper than the Gti with the way I drive that)

Added you to the list, let me know if anything changes.

I am doing the same jouney to the RR day from North Norfolk but at least the Karting is in the afternoon so getting here is not as bad :p

List updated, let me know if there are any changes!

That's about a mile away from me (and about a mile from Snetterton race track). The food isn't the cheapest but it is very nice.

Fancy coming to the Karting?

Sign me up. I'm moving that day but I'll make a stop off on the way back up and squeeze in some karting :D

I'll be in a Kangoo and CTR EP3 ;)

Nice one! Will you be in for the Pub after or just Karting?

Going to be booking us a table for after the GP ;)

It's not getting there that will be the issue, it's getting home after the karting abuse, the Cider intake and the Carbohydrate coma I'll be in after dinner. :D
Oh and it'll be dark.

Well you can always take up Vix on the offer of a spare room for the Saturday night!

I really really want to come, but I'm not sure that my recently operated on wrist would take the abuse of karting, hence why I haven't put my name down. :(

Well it is 2 months away and with the Mini GP format racing it is split into sessions so you would have rest between them!

Ask your doctor?

Would love to come, Im only 25 mins away, but might be moving house so will have to see.

How late can we give notice?

Once the 20 spots are gone that is the maximum for karting, after that it will have to be spectate / waiting list and pub (Which should still be a great afternoon/evening out!).

I will be paying the full amount for the minium 10 drivers, 21 days before the event. But they would also like to know how many over the 10 will be going.

If we haven't filled the 20 slots then it doesn't really matter how late you give notice.

+/- one or two on the day is not going to be a major problem as long as we are over 10.

Am I allowed to come to this one? :p

I'm sure I heard a few "Ban him" shouts at the last one. :D

Unless you are some pro karter who wants to come and show us all up you are more than welcome :p

Edit: Just looked at the last karting thread!!! Still welcome though, will just have to follow you around to get the right lines :D

What car?

JP, is that offer for a pas ride still open? ;D

Distance wise it's a shade over 150 miles each way for me via the A3.

Edit*
Yes, put me down as in also!

I am sure we can sort something out before or after the karting.

Yours is a BMW?

I will find out about cameras on Monday.

There are some videos on YouTube if your search for Red Lodge Karting so I think it should be OK.
