Easyriders Car PC Project

The effort to install that bezel lol

why skimp?

Because apparantly money is an issue you could at least get a decent compromise? when you've already spent a decent amount on the kit. Go the extra hog to make it look clean cut. I thought you'd at least do that.

Apart from that good install well done :)

My harsh words were in response to many criticisms about me not liking "ghetto" installs.

If you can do it over a weekend, DO IT, it will look 100x better :)

I don't know why you're even still replying to these people easyrider, paradigm at least is clearly just out to wind you up. If it makes you happy, then it's mission accomplished. Myself? I'd have probably come up with something similar for the screen but I would have spent more time on the boot install.

I'm one for tweaking kit:)

But I'm also impatient.

TBH the hardest part of this install was tweaking the IGO8 stanav.

This took me 5hrs:eek:

a lot of effort goes into a car PC especially software etc..

For now I'm happy

But a Double DIN install will probably win when I get time and the money to

**** 150 quid on a piece of plastic.:)

Actually, I'm really not, hence why I've appreciated parts of the project, and even agreed with Easy on a few points.

I just DON'T ****** LIKE GHETTO INSTALLS.

Now can we just drop it rather than have newcomers to the conversation lay into me.

Too right, thats stupendously overpriced :/ Where was that from?

OP might have got a better response on a car pc forum or something but you actually get truthful and often blunt/to the point opinions on this forum from a few of the members, quite refreshing actually:p

I personally think the install is nice, but i've got an extremely bland Japanese interior:cool::o

Somebody on bmwland integrated an Alpine double DIN headunit into a BMW 16:9 screen which looked completely OEM, it's fantastic. Wish I could find it!

It doesn't matter

I'm not asking for praise.

I'm just posting my install.

What I have understood is that there is far more to car PC than a monitor mount.

Tweaking the software is the hard bit:)

You clearly called his install trash. While it might not be up to your lofty standards, it's not a bad job at all. You want to **** his hard work off as trash because it's just IN YOUR OPINION and then just drop it? Well it's IN OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINION that there's nowt wrong with it. Where's your install thread?

Now now!

OllyM and paradigm are welcome posters to my thread.

I know more about PC tech than both of them put together 1000x over,

This includes how electronics behave under severe temps, wether it be hot or cold.

They know more about cars.

Their views are from one stand point only and thats aesthetics of my install.

Everything else about it will be out of their depth.

A car pc is physical install of components.

Hacking the software etc.. to work is beyond them both.

Hence their frustration.

Looks alright to me, I usually go for functionallity over form too.

Could you make a cover for the bracket to make it a little less obvious when the screen isn't there? Maybe make it look like an air freshener so the oppourtinists won't give it a second glance. :D
