Easyrider's Cinema Room Number Two

Wasn't aware the lack table was still suitable for that kind of weight since they changed the constuction of the legs

Looking forward to seeing the whole room finished.

The lack is fine. Even with the hollow legs.

The heaviest thing will be on the bottom table top not even on legs the AV amp. Then Sky + box and then HTPC Thats all I need in this space. All are connected up to the LAN and home server.

Must get cabinet made for wires lol in office/server room

To much to do at the moment...It looks ugly but it works lol

Interested with your Sky HD setup Easyrider, but what switch are you using to feed it around the house?

I already have four Sky HD boxes, & some magic eyes, but I need to feed the Sky to five rooms, & be able to record on all four boxes, not sure the best way to do it.

Roughly Stuck on to show you :D I have the correct measurements recorded

I will have no AV cab on the front wall. I just wanted my TV to Float in space :p Have the AV rack in the cinema room and possibly regret it to some extend with the flashy lights of the Amp etc..... :o

This is more of a loungy area

Easyrider can you explain something for me please.

Let's say under your TV you need 2 Ethernet cables (say for a HTPC and PS3), that means you need 2 cables being fed from your router and they both need to go into the faceplate. Is that right?

If that's right, wouldn't using an unmanaged switch be easier?

Everything feeds back to this in the study ( yet to be tidied as things get tested )

This is a managed switch so I trunk depending on bandwidth

The 2 x Cat 6 are fed directly to the 16 port Gigabit switch in the study

The 1 gang 2 x Cat 6 socket is for the bar area and I don't need or want a switch cluttering things up on top of a worktop:)

The whole room has six cat 6 connections....will update pics as they flow:)

The 2X Grey Cat 6 cables you can see here will come out of a Brush Plate and will either connect with stuff directly or I'll use a mini switch

They are Labtec form screwfix...I'm not to sure how many times I will plug and unplug the cables though! If ever!

I've got these in a few rooms and after about 3 years using them they are scratch free. You'd have to be very heavy handed to scratch them, and even then I doubt it would look that bad due to the brushed metal marks already on there.

Anyway, I'm loving this thread, giving me lots of ideas for future builds!
