Easyriders Cinema Room

You big fibber!!:D

Apologies for the subscribers. I have finished all the painting and was all set to get some pics last night. But didn't finish it until 12.30am.

I allowed it to dry and went home this evening after work to take some pics and the mobile went off asking me to babysit for my sister.:(

So i'm posting this from my laptop at her house so another night is lost. Sorry guys.:o

Will defintely have some pics tomorrow night after work.

2 days ago I was picking up the laminate flooring and that took two trips as its heavy stuff.

I do have some good news though.

I just got Sky+ HD and Sky+ multi room for £49 installed!!!!

They are coming around tues afternoon to install so I better get my finger out:eek:

I can't believe it! :D

What projector you putting up again mate? ( i dont wanna scroll through all the pages lol).

Ive got an optoma hd65 but im joining the RAF so i think its gonna have to go :(.. i love it aswell!

you put what you want in YOUR room mate.. nothing wrong with laminate (yeah it bounces sound but a big rug should help)

Wouldn't a wood floor make it echoey when viewing films? A deep pile carpet would be better. Think acoustics... and velvet drapes on the walls.... yeah I haven't got a clue what i'm on about. :D

It does and you'll also notice anything you drop makes the loudest noise!

I've just gone from lam floor to 11mm Cloud 9 underlay with a decent carpet. Not only does the heat stay in the room longer (plus the floor doesn't get cold), but it helps with insulating the room of sound, something I personally was looking for in my cinema build.

Personally I wouldn't have gone for laminate either, ok it looks nice and all that but it's so much harder to keep clean than carpet! All the dust and dirt that just sits invisibly on carpet, gathers up on the laminate and is very obvious!

In my flat we have laminate in the lounge and hallway (was there when we bought the flat) and we would literally have to vacuum/mop it every hour to keep it spotless!

Easyrider: cinema rom is looking fantastic, I can't wait to be able to do similar one day!!!

i hope all the "oh not dont do that" isnt putting him off from updating... :(

TBH it is annoying as the laminate is a compromise I had to do to win the space.

I know the drawbacks of solid flooring quite well thanks to all who commented. With furniture in and a big rug it will be fine trust me.;)

Anyway moving swiftly on, I ran into a few problems. The electrician put his back out causing me this delay.
:(

I did't want to post a pic of one wall painted and leave the thread again until its completed, hence the delay in posting.

So my next update will be when the Floor is finished and the plugs fitted and lights. This week hopefully.

I'm getting Sky HD installed on Tuesday and I have to power the TV etc.. when he comes off an extension lead.:(

Running into problems like this, on a project like this, was bound to happen.

Plus side is all the painting is finished and 50% of the floor is down. The finishing around the window is done too.

Its going to be a really nice space I think. I have 8 more electrical sockets (4 are done) to get fitted then the wall lights and then I'm clear to bring in the gear.

If you want partial teaser pics then just say but its so close to completion in Decorating and wiring terms I thought I would give you the finshed empty room.

Then take pics of the gear installation.:D

P.S don't ask me for Pics right now....Its snowing and with no light or power I don't want to go arse over tip!!!!!!!:p

More pics please, it's more about the journey than what the final thing looks like. :) Upload as much as you can, it helps a lot that is wanting to know, how to go about things.

Near completion of my own home cinema, so I do know the stress that comes with it :)
