Gave mine away years ago too its a bit lame imo as well, cos okay cinemas have them but what next you going to install an ice cream counter and popcorn?
I suppose it comes from pride in ownership and perhaps an essence of achievement, bit like a trophy to the owner almost like self assurance.
Then again some people go out buy a Corsa and then have a big "Corsa" sun visor on it just to remember folk what it is. Whats cool to one bloke is gip to annother eh.
Everyone has their own ideas, oh and regards positioning forget teh centre channel having an AMP on top of a sub is just a fantastic idea and totally backs up what youd expect in a DTS endorsed enviroment, there you go my conclusion to the persons way of thinking and plaques being daft looking particulary when the owner doesnt seem to have a clue making the idea of the plaque look even more stupid!
Same kind of guy puts 16V on his car or Turbo or pretends it to be something people know damn fine well it isnt, cant explain why ones do it but heck if placques are your thing dont stop there.
Get a £20 THX baseball cap as well and a Dolby Digital T Shirt!

Must be some ratio here, the cheaper/worse the equipment, the bigger or more plaques needed....
Let the equipment do the talking, good kit is understated and doesn't need explaining..... just switch it on !!!!
But don't listen to me, ALL these Jap AV amps look to me... and need putting in a cupboard behind closed, and locked doors !!! LOL

its a bedroom, come on use your loaf. i didnt post that picture for you to comment on his gear or the arrangement of it. if you dont like it then fine but then nobody really cares as that wasnt supposed to be the topic of conversation.

But he has enough money for an onkyo amp, lcd tv, speakers and sky hd? and hes 19? IF anything he has a far better setup than most people here, much better than me and im 26! im not saying his setup is bad but he must have a lot of wonga to even get those things, and hes 19!

Will do mate,
I have finished the ceilings and Now have made a start painting the screen wall and side walls.
The ceiling took 4 coats
It drank the paint like a lush lol.
Not long now I wouldn't have thought.
The floor and painting and electrical sockets will be finished this week.
Then just skirting and then I bring in the gear
soo enoying!How are you wiring the TV? socket behind the TV, or channelling into a switched spur? One thing I can't get my head around for when I do my room next year is sub placement. Technically you should site the sub once the room is finished, but then it makes it harder to hide sub cables.
