eBay gone to pot?

I sell now and then but always have that niggling feeling that I'm going to get done over each and every time.
Same here I absolutely hate selling for that reason. Your precious goods have been handed over to the courier and goodness knows what’s going to happen next

Looks like I'm going to have an issue. Bought something for £20 on the 30th Dec, est delivery 2nd-7th Jan but no notification of it being dispatched. I appreciate it's New Year etc and I'm in no hurry so I emailed them just for an update on Sat and had no reply.

Private seller with 100% feedback (55), I'll leave it till the 8th then I guess I'll have to raise a non-delivery dispute with ebay?

30th is one week over xmas season and its private seller. Not everyone is geared up for volume retail.

But if you've listed something you should expect to answer emails.

I'd always let a buyer know if I'm busy. And if it's an issue I'd happily refund

Yea, the not being dispatched yet wasn't the issue due to the time of year, it's more not answering the email that has got me thinking there's going to be a problem.

Their details say 17 items sold and they are listing 13 other items, mostly some womens clothing and other odd bits. What I bought was a microphone for the PC.

Worry over, they've suddenly replied - apologised that they didn't receive the notification (whatever) and will send the microphone 1st class.

Faith restored :p

Some items I'll only list as collection only, it's going to limit the amount of buyers by quite a lot but still better than just advertising on FBMP.

Although, as has happened today, you get people who ignore that and say to post it.

Ebay is doing a stand up job of killing their business from both sides. They seem to have ****** off sellers recently and now they are trying to annoy buyers even more.

I am getting constant alerts for things I have saved searches for and ignoring the fact their search is utter junk and sends me things that barely match any of the search term, now most of the things coming through are "classified ads" so not even things on ebay. Ridiculous.

I'm having a massive headache with eBay and the seller of item I bought something from.

The simple outcome that both me and the seller agreed to was a partial refund to cover the item missing from my purchase. The seller said they couldn't refund me until I closed the case on eBay. I don't use eBay all that much so asked eBay what I should do. They said don't close the case as then they couldn't cover me with the buyer protection.

Anyway, This has been going round in circles since mid December with a simple solution at the forefront.

EBay put the case on hold for 5 days last week and this morning messaged me saying they've issued me and full refund of the item £169 and that I need to not do anything else and keep the item also. I've messaged them to confirm this and they have. They gave the seller 5 days to respond and issue the partial refund of £10 and now the out come is I get something for free and a full refund.

I really don't feel comfortable being issued a full refund and told to keep item as well. Morally this is very wrong and not good for my own well being and out of ideas what to do. Think this will be the last time I use eBay to purchase or sell, not that I used it much at all.

Its the sellers fault for ignoring the problem.

So... don't feel guilty.

He may have been funded it also - it has happened to me (must less value I must add :D)

The seller may have kept the money from the sale
Ahh ok, I've no idea but won't be dealing with them again. Is it normal for a company to ask one to close a case before they issue a partial refund? As if I did I'd have cancelled myself out of buyer protection eBay said. Just seems odd practice and makes the buyer protection redundant if I did.

Somebody is out of pocket though. Looks like eBay issued the refund as I've not heard from the seller since I last messaged and the case was put on hold, then again heard nothing to resolve the problem.

I opened up ebay for the first time in years only to find my account had been deleted. Didn't even get a warning, oh well as I 99% used it for buying no great loss.
