Ebay unpaid item strike

I've had to issue strikes against 2 buyers in the last month, people need to be able to pay for something before they try and buy it.

I can understand your frustration - but you agreed to pay for the item and then failed to pay. It's your fault and not his, some sellers would accept your offer to pay the listing fee, but from his point of view (especially as a big seller) getting it from Ebay is the "correct" thing to do. To be honest I'd probably do the same if I'd been the seller.

Have to say he could have been more reasonable. But at the end of the day [TW] you did agree to/sign a contract and therein you should have payed regardless, and maybe sold the item on yourself (at a loss yes, but then it is your mistake and thus your loss to incur).

The thought that Paypal would suddenly decide not to let me send any money had not even crossed my mind :(

Oh well.
If I'm reading this right...

The only reason why you didn't pay for the item is due to Pay Pal not letting you?

In that case, inform eBay. That's what I'd do anyhow.

If he neg-reps you, I think you can post a reply to your negative rep on your reputation page. This could go someway to explaining to other potential eBayers whom you may deal with in the future that your neg-rep point isn't because you're a ****, but because the seller was being unfair and Pay Pal decided to refuse your custom.

I've been caught out myself by Paypals spend limit, fortunately I could send a cheque as time wasnt an issue. You could have cancelled your Paypal account and setup another with a new spend limit, sadly that info is no good to you now :(

Any normal human being would have cut you some slack, as you explained the situation to them. Sounds like the seller is an arse, shame you cant neg the biatch :D

Yes. I eventually bought the item elsewhere for MORE than it would have cost had Paypal allowed me to send the money.

yeah, he's bieng a moron, but he is right.

You should have made another paypal account and used a different account!

Much like the seller should have showed the common courtesy to reply to e-mails.

This has happened to me. I just set up another Paypal account registered to a different email address until I got my main account verified! It is also very strange you were given the unpaid item strike because you actually RESPONDED to the dispute!

Yup..

The seller, fonetrading has informed eBay that payment for the item has still not been received, or that the two of you were not able to come to agreement. As a result, you have received an Unpaid Item strike.

It's a bit difficuylt to 'come to an agreement' if the seller refuses to reply :(

I'm getting over it, slowly. Thanks for the support :D

Sorry to take this OT, but PeterNem, isn't your sig ever-so-slightly too big?

Not as far as I can see.

400px*75px, 13.91kb for the image.

The one line of text underneath finishes just short of the image with text size set to normal in Firefox - seems fine to me.

Some guy on ebay won the leather seats from my Mondeo.

He then said he didnt want them so offered to pay my fees.

I emailed him the total cost (the cost to me, I didnt increase it at all).

After 6 weeks of not receiving any money I left him negative and in return he left me negative saying I wouldnt deliver them to him when the auction had collection only.

I hate people like that.

Sorry am I missing something here, have they banned your account because of this dispute? If they haven't I don't see what's the problem if you bid on something in the future and the seller questions this dispute just explain what happened.

You could always open another account.

how about emailing Ebay and pointing out that you where unable to comunicate with the vendor

I can sympathise with you Fox, but I don't think ebay or the seller will. I'd guess for the seller being a power seller they must get lots of emails and messages and probably missed yours that offered to pay their fees. Which is a bit of a pain.

As far as ebay are concerned, you didn't pay for an item. Hopefully no negative feedback will be left :(

Couldn't you have used somebody elses paypal account to transfer payment?
