****ed right off

Going to the prom in a limo sounds normal to me. It's what happened at mine and my sisters as well a few years before that.

Expensive night after the transport, suit etc etc.

In my day we didn't even get a bloody prom, more like a clip round the earhole and a 15 mile hike in the snow!

.....Ok, seeing as we left school in June though, the snow didn't happen. And the child protection laws circa 2000 when I left school meant the clip round the earhole didn't either. :P

My prom was 3 years back. I hired a nice suit from a local tailor shop, it was supposed to be ready a day before so we went in to collect it, however, it wasn't ready but he did say he would drop it round the next morning. The next morning came, no sign, que mother frantically phoning them getting more upset than me at the thought of it not arriving. Anyhow, it turns up one size too small less than an hour before I was due at my mates! Just had to wear it in the end. Prom was overrated anyway.

It's not one of these ***** run limo companies with hiddeously unsafe limo conversions is it? VOSA have started cracking down on them and crushing the things.

I do hate the word "Prom", and I'm not entirely sure why. Probably just getting old.

We used to dream of a clip round the earhole, we had it tough. We used to 'ave to get up out of shoebox at twelve o'clock at night and lick road clean wit' tongue. We had two bits of cold gravel, worked twenty-four hours a day at mill for sixpence every four years, and when we got home our Dad would slice us in two wit' bread knife. ;)

Whilst I do beleive you are being a cry baby and the fact that the poor guy is probably just out ferrying some other spoiled kids about for the night and hence cannot answer his phone, I would be annoyed at the prospect of losing money. If it does go belly up..

You can still get to the ball by other means of transport can't you, especially if you live in a built up place?

As for the loss of the hire price, this might be one for Trading Standards.

£55 for a limo to drop you off somewhere wtf? O_O also your mate sounds a bit stupid, why is the money missing and why does he think the limo company won't be turning up?

Over 400 quid  was it coming with dancing girls and a free fondle? either way it would appear the company has fondled you and without lube no less!

I got dropped off at my leavers do in a 1970 Morris Minor that I still drive 15 years later.

Limo's are a tacky POS.

Also, when did the leavers do change to a prom? WTF?
