I went this route a while back and bought the KEF LS50 Meta and whilst they are more modern than my Q300, they were nowhere near as enjoyable as my ~12yr old Q300s for both music and gaming. You must have a sub with those LS50s and yeah the cabinets are a little bit smaller with smaller drivers but even still, you expect a certain level of punch at £1000 for a pair of speakers. I returned them a week later and will just forever keep the Q300s until they die or something.I do wonder how much better much more expensive speakers would be. I am not really interested in how loud they go, the M3's more than loud enough for desktop pc imo.
You get to the point of diminishing returns at a certain level and that level doesn't really have a minimum price bracket because you can get super high end audio performance without spending much at all these days which was not the case in the past typically.
