EFL Cup - Fourth Round ** Spoilers ** [25 - 26 October 2016]

Who knows what he's doing with Martial, maybe its all reverse psychology, so when he does get into the 1st team, he's bursting with anger & rage and he'll smash it. Or he just doesn't rate him :p

There aren't that many players that arrive as a teenager and score a dozen goals in their 1st season even as a striker let alone as a winger / wide attacker (and without penalty duties either)

Its bad enough to go along with a purchase of a foreign player only to basically ignore him, but to ignore a player who was actually performed well the previous season and is playing well with the other members of the team is doubly strange

He isn't injured again is he - I know he recently came back from injury but he should be at least on the bench

Where's Smalling?

I would have started Young and Martial this game with Rashford through the middle.

Although personally I think both Rashford and Ibrahmovic need a rest

Another dumb lineup, can't even be bothered to watch this one. Jose seems to be trying to make it as hard as possible for himself lately.

I don't think I've ever heard of the situation that is happening with Mkhi happening before, it's just ridiculous.

Meanwhile touch of class Schweinsteiger is still wishing the team luck before the game. Amazing.

He's there watching. I don't know about you but if I had been treated the way he had I wouldn't be turning up and watching games or wishing my team good luck before every single game.

you are right - I would have found a new team who wanted me to play......

(and by all accounts he knew he was frozen out well before the end of the MLS window let alone anywhere else)

Why should he? Contracts should be respected by both parties. He wants to play for United, he has every right to not be shipped out on loan to the middle of nowhere just because our manager is an idiot.

City are sneaky aren't they. Put out a team good enough to beat us but that we should really be beating. Not confident at all.

Utd are respecting the contract so there isn't any issue there, but he should WANT to play rather than jus sit on his ass for 6 months or longer

The manager is paid to make the hard decisions for right or wrong, and he made it clear to the player he wouldn't play.

The player has to also prove he is good enough to play, which he most definitely hasn't done. If he is injured 1/2 the time its pretty irrelevant anyway

He's proven himself good enough. The fact he's good enough to play for flipping Germany while we instead prefer Carrick who isn't even good enough to get into the worst England side for ages shows how much of a laughing stock we are.

Such simple stuff from City.I don't know how we have managed 3 seasons without getting any sort of style to our attacking.

1stly 1 or 2 games every few months is not the same as 1 or 2 games a week by any stretch of the imagination even before comparing the facts

1) The style of play and intensity in internationals is completely different (and could be argued , easier) than the EPL / CL or even EL

2) Germany have probably one of the best teams and squads in the world, so more than likely have people who can cover for another player's deficiencies - Utd's squad level is no where near that good. Even with the better squads its hard if not impossible to do that in the EPL

Yet every pundit is crying out for Carrick to start.

Reminder for all the baking fans out there, GBBO is on too :p
